Mood Waves Podcast 002 - pH Project

We have an extra special show for our first podcast episode of 2022, the debut B2B of KT & Dom - recorded *live* from Whomp!

For those of you not familiar with Whomp, it's an intimate, non-profit party with a strong focus on sharing sounds from some of London's most sublime selectors. All the money raised from this particular show was sent directly to the JMB Educational Fund - a charity sponsoring children’s education in Nepal. 

I was lucky enough to be in attendance on this cold, wet night in February when Whomp took over the Carpet Shop in Peckham, a brand new venue ran by the team behind the legendary Corsica Studios. After friend-of-the-pod, Patrisha and Neb Spook warmed up the crowd nicely, KT & Dom took over to put the new Funktion-One system through its paces.

KT is a northern crate digger extraordinaire, a regular at respected London venues like The Lion and Lamb, Village Underground and The Cause. Dom is one half of Invisible Menders - partnering with Jane Fitz for their superb production and DJ alias. This was the first time KT & Dom have combined forces to unleash their unique sound of trippy tech house and trance bangers on the world. 

The pair have given me almost half of their 3 hour B2B all vinyl set and I hope you enjoy listening back as much as I did on the night!

The VSVN Podcast hits double digits with a trip to London via Leeds - introducing Karis!

I first met Karis in 2021 when she swung by the the DSVN Takeaway - the collaborative radio show I present alongside DimSumRecords, with an absolute blinder of a guest mix. Bleeped out electro, swampy UKG and hard-hitting breakbeat, I fell in love with her taste in music and told her she NEEDED to get on the VSVN pod - luckily enough she was down for it.

Karis hails from Leeds where she held a residency in one of the North of England's most famous clubs - Mint, rubbing shoulders with some of the world's best DJs. After growing a reputation as one her Leeds' finest selectors, Karis made the bold move over lockdown to pack her record bag, drive down the M1 and relocate to London. Since the clubs reopened, Karis has quickly begun establishing herself as a favourite amongst local promoters like U.K Hun with slamming sets in venues like Lion & Lamb.

RADIO LIMO | Ep. 2 | JAMES ANDREW

For our next InSession edition we welcome to our family a Uruguayan artist and Phonoteque crew member Santiago Uribe. Like his Latin American peers his music is stripped back to its fundamentals and then dialled up to 11 for maximum impact and ultimate dancefloor devastation. The home based Phonoteque is just one of the many genre defining labels that Santiago is a part of and he has turned out for the likes of Art of Dark, Cartullis and most recently his smash ‘The Death of Cool’ EP on Montevideo Electric Recordings.

Now, back to his podcast for us and it’s a stormer. Recorded live at home but inspired by the early hours at a Phonoteque party in his beloved Uruguay, Santiago utilises his raft of modular kit and packed out Ableton sessions to devastating effect. Not just primed for peak time flows this live set proves that this sound has many facets and from downtempo breaks, flanged synths and trippy vocals Uribe is an artist capable of melding all sorts of moods. The BPM’s may not be high but the power in the sounds at Santiago’s disposal is off the chart.

G.Gee opens up her toolbox of tunes for the latest episode of the VSVN Podcast! 

Living in London, G.Gee is one of the brains and builders behind Turn The Screw - a London & Leeds based underground party series she runs alongside Jordan Frost. The pair started their party in post-pandemic 2021 to create a space for a community of like-minded ravers who share a passion for good music and good parties. They've since welcomed heavyweight party-starters like Reeshy, Youandewan and Felon5 to headline their shows.

For this episode of the pod, G.Gee provides just over an hour of dubbed out diggers-delight lusciousness from start to finish. It's like a warm hug on a brisk autumn evening, wrapped up in the most cosy track transitions and I'm super excited to share it with you :)

I first met Brammers when he booked me to play in 2022 alongside T.Jacques in his hometown and we instantly connected. Our kid is one of the brains behind Shangri La, a York-based crew passionate about bringing proper electronic music to the city they call home. So far their parties have seen the likes of top selectors like Harry Wills, Felon5 and Reeshy on headline duties.
