Hey everyone !! Happy New Year 2021 !!
I hope you are all doing good, that your families and friends are all going well and that last year was still an okay year for you despite all the mess !
 
It has been a huuuuuge amount of time since I last uploaded a video ! 
Last time was last summer and since then I’ve become a bit busy with life but still managed to work on ongoing projects at a slower pace (current covers, Boo:ooM). Overall, last year has been quite challenging in terms of self-management and inspiration. I took long before finding the pace and mindset to work back on long term projects but I finally got the grasp of it and am ready to kick butts!

Today’s video is a band arrangement of the song Daddy! Daddy! Do! from the anime Kaguya-sama: Love is war, sung by Masayuki Suzuki and Airi Suzuki. Right when the song came out, I immediately felt “this is my jam !!!!” and decided to cover it. 

For this project, an all time inspiration and incredible song writer Farhan Sarasin worked on the  arrangement of most of the instrumental, then completed by the guitar and brass section played by the Project Mikan (who also happen to be featured in Boo:ooM … but you’ll see later!)
I asked Shannon to be my partner in crime on the singing part of this song. We asked lame dancers to perform for us … jkjk, that was my (bad) idea; we look cringy but it was a super fun choreo to record.

Mixing so many instruments while making it sound wide and punchy was a very challenging part but Iearned tons in the process of it. It ended up being one of my proudest mixes so far.
Big thanks to Fome, Eva and Farhan for providing such detailed mix feedbacks in the process of it !

This cover would not have been the same without the crazy yet incredibly talented people that collabed with me so I wanna thank for from the deep of my heart. CHECK OUT THEIR CHANNELS because they deserve it !

Helloooo everyone! 

3 months have past since Daddy Daddy Do ! Time flies so faaaaaast.
I wanted the release this video in February but work and other projects had me delay it! 
Anyway, I hope you guys are doing okay in these weird "in between" Covid pandemic. 
Okay with school, okay with work and okay with life in general, as it can be quite boring, stressful, or just unsettling overall...
I unfortunately haven't gotten a chance to get back to composing Boo:ooM it since January but I will get it done this year. I promise.
Ideas are there + I finally got a new PC (that won't crash on every composing session I work on) so NO EXCUSE ANYMORE!!!! (thanks Doom)

Back to this song ! This is a song from the band Official Hige Dandism called 'Universe', composed for Doraemon's movie that was released this year !
(To be honest, I did not know until I looked it up few weeks ago). After listening to the song twice, it got stuck in my head, forcing me (yes "FORCING") to sing it !
Last year, this band release Pretender, which was a super big hit ... but I personally prefer this song of theirs for how emotionally charge it sounds and the overal chording (arranger bias here).

After how pleasant our collaboration was on 'Daddy!Daddy!Do!', I once again asked Mister Farhan Sarasin to join me on this journey and I cannot thank him enough for how awesome of a musician he is, the quality of his works on this song (and just overall) and for accepting this collab !
Thank you Farhan! I'm a big fan, I still am, and mixing your tracks was pure gold ! It's an honor to make music with you ! 

I dedicate this song to all the people who've been supporting me lately (friends, gf, family, people who keep following my works). 
Small words, small actions and small attentions (and food) mean the world to me, so a big thanks !

For round 3 we got (stuckwith) the theme spring!! 
… (Squintseyesatjudges)… 

We ended up choosing a depressing song that most probably takes place in spring.
(Sakura blooming, rainfall, literally mentioning spring, etc… )
"Jougen no tsuki" is a continuation of "Senbonzakura".
Senbonzakura is basically about wartime and about the main character saying one should hold onto hope despite being executed.
Jougen no tsuki ,we can assume,is about the person left behind.
He loved the main character of Senbonzakura greatly and he laments about losing her,
how it all seems like a dream and about all the what if's and regrets he has.

AAAAaaaaahhh !! It’s been a while like ages I haven’t upload a solo cover … like … a serious one … FRUSTRATION LEVEL 9999//SHOT okay I stop.
So I’ve been working on this one for like 2 months (while repeating the song again and again (… and again)in call with people (sorry for those people ... 8'D)) BUT NOW IT’S HERE !!

Heyyyy everyone! 

Hope you're all doing great and are all well hydrated while summer and sun burn in some areas !
I did not even expect to talk to you this early, compared to the gap in release date between Universe and Akuma no Ko (more than a year) !

This month went so fast I don't even feel much happened ... while TONS happened !! 
Many friends visiting, especially friends from Canada I hadn't seen since 2018, a certain german specimen, a certain Banana Prince as well, and I also got to party with some in Brussels ! 
Hung out with family again and gf got her driving licence !
At the end of the day, I still have tons of things to do aside of work but ayyy welcome to maso life again ! Way to go right ?!
I guess summer and its longer days helps me maintaining some sanity and a clearer mind, hoping it'll last for long !!

Anyway, let me introduce you the new release of today. This is a song release by Kenshi Yonezu (Hachi-P for people coming from the Vocaloid era). 
The song was release in July 2021 and inspired me right away. The atmosphere immediately reminded me the loose, upbeat and teasing vibe from Flamingo ! 
Minimalistic instrumentation but very effective in terms of contrasts and energy. 
The main challenges I faced while arranging the instrumental were mainly about finding the perfect balance between, getting the same DIY vibe from the original version and turning it into a dirtier arrangement, with more distortion and more grit !!
On the vocal side, I had to get out of my comfort zone and sing in my lower range, trying to sound "bored" yet still "singing" ! 
Man ... this song was so inspiring to arrange and sing !! I admit Anba telling me more about the lore of the song, really helped me grasp the mood !
The song comes from a famous Rakugou (japanese satirical story telling) from the same name (死神) about a man about to end his life out of boredom until a Shinigami tells him to become a doctor and save dying people by granting him the ability to push away death itself.
The man uses and abuses his skill out of greed until he realizes by doing so, he was shortening his own lifespan as well, materialized by a candle getting shorter and shorter.
He'd then have to transfer the flame from his candle to another bigger one. Right before succeeding, the Shinigami tricks him and blows on the flame (⊙_⊙). 

This was (again) a long project but a very fun one to work on ! Hope you guys will enjoy !

Okay … donc pour une fois je vais m’exprimer en Français un peu vu que je pense que l’occasion se présente. Tout d’abord je suis devenu un gros fan de Tokyo Ghoul depuis la sortie de l’anime en juillet et j’ai directement accroché à l’opening. Pour le coup, ça m’a pris beaucoup de temps de comprendre un peu comment le chanteur chantait cette chanson et je suis vraiment très loin de chanter comme lui mais … cette cover c’est beaucoup de “premières fois” pour moi [Onegai senpai, sois doux avec moi ///A///], autant dans le fait que c’est la première chanson que je traduis et chante en Français [d’ailleurs merci Poutou pour avoir check !], mais aussi la première fois que je cale un truc qui ressemble à peu près un screamo dans une de mes covers xD
Pour finir, c’est la première fois que j’anime … partiellement ou complètement une vidéo ; p
J’ai mis du temps à sortir cette cover car j’ai attendu la toute fin des épisodes [de la première saison du coup] et attendu de lire les mangas pour vraiment comprendre le personnage de Kaneki pour réécrire les paroles.
Certes, certaines traductions sont pas exactement tirées des paroles japonaises, mais j’ai essayé d’en extraire le maximum du sens tout en écrivant ce que j’avais envie de chanter !
Sinon, il est vrai que j’avais pas upload de cover de tout l’été mais … les vacances sont passées par là, aussi le fait que ma voix ou mon humeur n’était pas spécialement au rendez-vous
Toujours est-il que j’espère que vous apprécierez cette vidéo, et j’espère qu’on vous a pas trop soulé tout l’été avec cette chanson ;p ! A la prochaine !!

Okay …. so for the first time, I expressed few words in French in one of my video descriptions, since … you know … it’s a french cover 8’D
First, I’ve become a huge fan of Tokyo Ghoul since the anime started last July and I directely liked the opening. It actually took a lot of time for me to figure out how to sing this song and I tried to get close as possible from the original singer, but I think I definitely don’t sing like him hahaha 8’D ... but …. yeah, this cover is a lot of “first times” for me [Onegai senpai, be gentle with me ///A///], by the fact it is the first time I rewrite an entire song in French [and thank you Poucet for checking it !], but also the first time I put something that “kind of” sounds like a screamo in one of my covers xD
Last but not least, this is the first time I animate an entire video [I used to try few things before, but only for playing] so …. a really BIG THANK YOU to Saint and Yoru for having been my teachers and for having given me tips for this first animation ! It definitely helped a lot !!
I took time to upload this cover because I’ve been waiting for the end of the anime and reading the mangas to really understand the character of Kaneki for the lyrics.
I admit that the translation is not /exactly/ the same as the original lyrics for some parts, but I tried to take the maximum amount of the original meaning while balancing with the words I wanted to sing ; p
Also, it is true I haven’t uploaded any cover this last summer but … you know … vacations … sickness or mood were not really helping lately ... [but don’t worry I’m okay now hehe ;p]

Hey people !! Damn !! Time always runs so fast !! Already a month and a half since Akaito !

Well, this time I’m back with some full arrange cover (which means I did everything from scratch) of a song I’ve always wanted to sing and always loved called The Real Folk Blues. It is the ending theme song from the 90’s anime Cowboy Bebop, composed by Yoko Kanno and originally sung by Mai Yamane.

To be honest Yoko Kanno is a goddess … and Yamane’s voice is like so specific and so uncommon … idk, that’s like a f*cking good combo to me ! I’ve known the anime of Cowboy Bebop since … the start I think but never got the chance to watch it until yesterday, even if I kind of know the overall plot and was really moved by the soundtrack !

Heeeeyyy ! It has been a hella long time since the last upload !! I’ve been super busy with uni during this first semester (or more like I wanted to dedicate the maximum amount of time to my studies), which explains my lack of upload since June … it doesn’t mean I’m inactive though!
Been working on plenty of projects lately, and they’re taking me quite some time but … hey … soon ; )

Anyway ! I’m glad to present you Fome, Howl and SquaDus (who I sang a duet with previously!). They’re really awesome singers who got to sing together 3 times as a Trio (called “RawSquidFoam”, respectively for HowlSquadusFome … which explains why us 4 are “RawSquidFoamVolcano” ... got it ? :D). HIIII EVERYONE!! I hope you’re all doing great!!  It has [once again] been an eternity! I’m always balancing my time between university and videos and I have to admit I tried not f*cking up with uni this year, which explains the very slow release frequency I’ve had recently.

We’re April 2nd and this duet project has started approximatively a year ago. I first heard this song on SoundCloud actually, it was covered by 2 chinese singers [I only remember the guy’s name “EX纸箱君] I was outstanded by their performance which made me wanna sing Gekkou Symphonia ! So I found it would be a great opportunity to ask Shannon [LemonTeaBloops … who I’m quite a fan of ;p] if she could sing this song with me! 
One of the biggest reasons why this duet took so much time to make was … my intention to reproduce the entire instrumental + add an intro to it … and …. To make … an … actual original PV … yeah orz … BUT HERE IT IS!! Thanks to my partner in crime [and beloved artist] Eternal-S we DID IT [in 4 months for the instrumental, 1 week for the mix and 5 months for the video that is on YT …]

Vulkain : Hi everyone ! For once … it hasn’t been too long since last upload … wow. 
April 2014 (yeah … 2 years ago), Yoru asked me if we could sing in some collab together (aside from being in the same chorus battle group “A Latte Trouble” for SCB). He found this really cool composer, EON, which is was composer I didn’t know before (turned out he’s also Anba’s friend). His songs had something different from what I heard before in the Vocaloid area, so we chose to sing “Libra” with SquaDus!
Yoru organised the project while Haru and Kurin scripted the lyrics for us ! Howl and Fumi were nice enough to accept working on the visual section of the video on Youtube (both having worked together in their respective CB group RE:CHORD) and I’m forever grateful to them ! In a way that's ... kind of a collab between some audio from ALT and the visual part of RE:CHORD ; )
As far as I remember, the audio part was done by August2014 (I was literally mixing it during my stay at Anba's house while she was yelling at me to go bike riding outside 8'D), the visual section needed some more time but … WE’RE IN 2016 AND THIS PROJECT SURVIVED THANKS TO THE DETERMINATION OF OUR SURVIVING ANIMATOR HOWL HAHAHAHAHA!! (Again, thank you Howl, I owe you one for this.)

YOWWW EVERYONE !! It has been a while since the last upload! (3 months actually)
Those last 3 months have been sort of a new experience for me since I’m currently full time working as an intern and have wayyy less time to work on my projects than last year (which explains how slow I’ve been working on that one haha). 

I guess /some/ people here know Mystic Messenger? For those who don’t, Mystic Messenger is a Korean phone otome game that was released last August!  The concept of the game is basically a messaging app simulator where you get to chat with the game characters and eventually get into a romance with one of them (well … otome game). 
I’ve only tried it a bit just to understand my friends who were playing it and I have to admit the chat simulation is impressively realistic! But what cought my attention was the game songs and expecially … THE OPENING SONG … the one I just sang , since I’m a huge fan of funky/jazzy music !!!

This time again Eternal-S (#707trash #MysticMessengerTrash) joined me on this project on the art section (YT video) and Mochi and Saint helped me rewriting the English lyrics (since the original ones kind of sounded weird to us…), and Anba literally wrote the entire script of the chat with all the characters ! BIG THANKS TO THEM !!!! I send them all my gratitude ;’)
The audio part of the video was made and recorded in one week … the rest took pretty much the 3 remaining months since I started working in September and have only had 4 hours a day to work on projects. I have to admit my mood has gone up and down a lot lately because of that, but I sort of work through it.
Meanwhile, I put all my heart in this project and I hope everyone will enjoy it!

Helloooo people! I hope everyone’s doing great!

The sun has finally shown up, leaves are finally growing from trees, flowers are blooming- ALLERGIES ARE BACK. Besides that, Happy Easter for those who feel like celebrating it!
I finally have some time lately to work back on music projects so I’ve been working on quite a few. 
If everything is fine (always that condition) more videos could be out within the next few weeks.

Today’s song is a song composed by Mafumafu, originally mixed by Soraru and sung by both of them (as the unit called “After the Rain”). The video was made by Mafuteru.

I heard this song about 2 weeks ago (when it was released) because of Mochi (@crunchimochi). The second when the piano starts in this song made us be like “Oh wow … that’s new. That’s f*cking great”. So yeah we’ve literally looped the intro for days after that.
I actually only considered singing it when Mafumafu released the -3 semi-tones version of the instrumental (otherwise it would have been WAYYYY too high for me to sing) aaaand … here we are !
The arrangement of this song sounds quite different from their usual songs because of the addition of the piano and strings, bringing their typical sound to another level.

It was a very nice song to sing (actually hadn’t sung a song like this for a while HAHAHA) and I couldn’t prevent myself from including an additional 10sec guitar solo in the instrumental break (haven’t done that since 2013 actually).
Anyways, I hope you guys will enjoy my cover of this song !

Hey everyone ! I hope you’re all having a great day !

The sun’s currently hitting pretty hard in France and I’m melting at this very moment. Besides that, Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) season 2 has been out for about a month and a half and it’s still lit af. It's kind of frustrating to know there's only gonna be 12 episodes after all this time.
I first hesitated on singing this opening since I was rather done with the fact that Revo was using the same ‘magic’ formula for this opening as well. The song has a closer vibe to Guren no Yumiya (op1) than Jiyuu no Tsubasa (op2) because of the way the verse is built (the repetition of 1st and 5ths on the bass, strings and wind lines) … but hey … that’s what we like about Revo and it somehow went stuck in my head after a while … which led me to sing the song (also because I’m such a background vocals/choir trash that I couldn’t let the opportunity to sing this song go). 
Arranging the instrumental was quite tricky due to the ton of instruments involved but it made me learn quite a lot about orchestral instrumentation and the use of this or that instrument.

Hey hey heyyy ! Long time no see! (About 3 months I think ?)

I hope everyone is doing good! AAAAHHHHHH I’m finally starting to have a little bit of time to work on stuff beside my internship!! I spent the past 2 months working on long days there, switching from work, music, friends and sleep. Weeks are too short, days are too short and I wish I had more energy to hold that on a daily basis but it is getting better on that end and I can finally come home every evening and do music and other stuff (SUN IS FINALLY BACK AND DAYS ARE LONGER YEEEEY !).
I still work on Boo:ooM on a daily basis (when I'm not dead from work). The project has been a back and forth between:
- I have time but lacking of ideas,
- I have ideas but lacking of time,
Recently managed to work through it in a very decent way though !

Anyways ! Today's song is a song I discovered about 2 or 3 years ago. The song’s called “Anata ni deawa nakereba” (あなたに出会わなければ), which means, « If I hadn’t met you », originally sung by Aimer, from the album Sleepless Nights (2012). It is quite a sad song about still loving someone you cannot be with and actually missing that person and wishing you had not met that person, to avoid feeling bad (that’s some deep sh*t there…). 
It is a song I recorded in march 2017 (so about a year ago) after remaking the instrumental in -3 half-tones compared to the original. Aimer has a unique yet technical way of singing on this song, which gave me some hard time recording back then.

HEY EVERYONE !! I hope you guys are all doing well during holidays !

The past few months/weeks have been quite harsh on me in terms of time. 
Since I’ve started my Masters (I’m currently on my final year at university), I’ve been switching between work/study/university/chaos … and a little bit of time for food and sleep o<-<
But I have to admit I love what I’ve been doing those past weeks in terms of knowledge stimulus !

Though, some weeks ago, I felt such a vital need to work on a cover that I went home and decided to work on the instrumental of this song that I was craving to cover since it was out, in October 2018.

So here it is, I decided to cover Flamingo by Kenshi Yonezu. I fell in love with the song the first time I heard it tbh. Definitely the kind of music I needed in my life at that precise time haha!
The song was super fun to record ! 

The album Boo:ooM is still work in progress. I have remaining tracks to compose and quite some lyrics to write. I feel working on this cover helped me improving my quality standards and I hope it will translate well enough for the album !! The video is also under progress: Steel showed me some animation wip and they look very promising.
For now I can’t give final release date yet since I still have a lot to do and little time.
Though I have 2 nice free weeks right now so I’ll be able to make some progress on that end ; )

Hey everyoooooooone !! 

Loooong time no see !! I hope you’re all doing great ! I’ve been underwater (basically busy with university) since like … september and … I’m FINALLY about to be done with it !! (Still few exams, few research papers to write and a job to find before october). 
To be honest … I’m half sad and happy it finally ends (I can’t deal with uni projects and exams every week … but at the same time … University life was pretty fun). I was lucky doing my Masters degree in that one and learned so much about my specialty, life and especially … about me.
Meanwhile ! I still had time to watch Shingeki no Kyoujin and of course … to listen to its (mess of an-) opening “Shoukei to Shikabane no Michi”  (Path of Aspirations and Corpses) !! The piece itself musically reminds every single one of the Linked Horizon songs from the past seasons (Guren no Yumiya, Jiyuu no Tsubasa, Shinzou wo Sasageyou and Requiem der Morgenröte).
Of course had to cover the song !! 
Seriously there, the instrumental arrangement was quite a challenge to work on! The original version was rather mixed as an orchestral piece while I tried to emphasize the power metal aspect of the song (especially drums and guitars) while having enough room to let the choirs and the vocals make through. Despite that, I really enjoyed working on that song. It was tons of powerful moments to work on !

Let’s talk about Boo:ooM now ! Some of you have asked me some news about it ! I had to delay many times the Album launch date du to the lack of proper time to finish the songs I had to work on, and especially to rework on some elements of the story. Boo:ooM being a concept album following an original story, I really want it to make sense on every aspect. On the next months, we’re planning to fill the few plot holes that the story has and to end the audio part. Video’s still in progress since Steel has faced the same issues as me (basically being loaded with other professional works). We’ll give you some more news in the next few weeks !

Hey everyone ! How are you all doing ?

I think most of us are in the same lockdown situation aren’t we ? Are you guys all safe at home and taking care of your cared ones and yourselves ?

On my end the lockdown is now going smooth. The first weeks went a bit crazy after my company ordered us to stay home after one of our coworkers was found first positive to Covid (a week before the official French lockdown) working from home put my mental down for few days. I now spend more time in call with the people I care about and rather use this situation as a way to take advantage of the time I have (instead of my daily 3 hours commuting).

This is the very reason of this cover. After working on a song for ‘Boo:ooM’ and getting stuck at it for days (or weeks), I missed singing just for the sake of it. Few weeks ago, I stumbled upon a live performance of TRUE singing this song. The performance was so emotionaly charged that it made me love the song more than when I watched Violet Evergarden 2 years ago. I then decided to cover it, remaking the entire instrumental lower than the original pitch (a bit too high for me !).
I would have loved to record the video in a flower field or so … but lockdown had me #StayHome !

This is a song and video I took some time working on and I hope you’ll like it !
(Also I tried not moving to much on the video but couldn’t prevent extensive hands movements …)

I keep having receiving support messages from listeners/friends asking how the ‘Boo :ooM’ album is doing. Thank you so much for caring and for supporting this long time overdue project. It is taking its time, but it’s the time I need to make it enjoyable, for you and for me ! Many parts of the story are still to be improved (characters currently being a bit bland, missing events, etc.). Story parts that I need to develop to make sure the songs tell what they should tell !  
I still feel terribly sorry for making you wait. The result will HAVE to be worth the long wait !

Hi everyone ! After a month of ... well okay I always start the same way so you all know I always take a month a release a cover ;'DD So yeah I'm preparing a guitar cover these days ... but anyway HUM !

This time I and Sumashu sang a duet of the song Hitorinbo Envy (or Solitary Hide & Seek Envy) ... well quite ironical 'cause that's supposed to be a song about "solitary envy" ... but well we sang it as a duet 8'D (thanks Anba for making me realize that ...).

By the way Sumashu was the very first one that asked me to duet with him when I started vocal covers so ... here it is ! Well I'm not really used to sing this way but I hope you'll enjoy it ;)
