"Florian T M Zeisig’s splendid debut 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘓𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘚𝘰 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 was constructed out of 426 tape loops from Enya’s 𝘞𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒏 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒌𝒚 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅. Using up to eight pitch-able tape players, the artist cut these loops and reassembled them, crafting captivating sound dialogues whose unforeseen and precise beauty emerges from a sense of curiosity and awe in the layered relationship between fragments. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝒄𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒌 𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒔 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒅, 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒂 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒈𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏.

For the 5th anniversary of this work, Zeisig revisited the original archive of loops and created an absorbingly introspective second volume with loops that had not been previously used, following the same approach. 𝑨 𝒓𝒐𝒄𝒌 𝒇𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒔 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒂𝒌𝒆, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒓𝒖𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒔 𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒍𝒆𝒇𝒕 𝒃𝒆𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒅.

𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘓𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘚𝘰 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 was largely focused on technique and conceptual elaboration, but 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘓𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘚𝘰 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘐𝘐 is not so preoccupied with an overly intellectual quest. 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒐𝒕 𝒖𝒑𝒐𝒏 𝒔𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒊𝒄𝒂 𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒑𝒔, 𝒘𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒖𝒑𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒉 𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒓𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒅. 𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒕𝒔 𝒂𝒏 𝒊𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒕𝒉 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒅.

Freeing itself from formal concerns as a guiding principle, the second volume unravels from a deeply emotional impulse towards artistic and personal honesty. 𝑨 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒔 𝒔𝒐𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒔 𝒊𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒐𝒅. 𝑰𝒕𝒔 𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒐 𝒌𝒆𝒆𝒑𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒔𝒌𝒊𝒏. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒔, 𝒊𝒕 𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒑𝒔 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒔. While the first volume opened up spaces of unprecedented wonder, the second not only expands these spaces and stretches them out into landscapes: more importantly, it also dares to inhabit them. 𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝒂 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒎𝒚 𝒗𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒔𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒉𝒂𝒖𝒏𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎𝒔. A liberation from the mandate that artworks need to be “about something,” 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘓𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘚𝘰 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘐𝘐 stands as a mirror made of memories, offering a meaningful reflection of the last five years of the artist’s life. Irish artist Eamon Ivri (aka Lighght) and evo-natura's label founder Ioannis Nafpliotis (aka xato) present their two-tracker ambient / drone collaboration EP, 'Flown like dust / Glacial Endeavor'.

While the tracks have their own distinct sound, they both share the same main technique behind their creation: tape looping. Although it is a digitally made tape loop system, they both follow the ethos behind the analogue originator. With field recordings and improvised compositions, their existence serves to accompany you in different moods.

The report alluded to the potential development of drugs that could suppress the fear and inhibition of soldiers, effectively turning them into killing machines capable of acting without both scrutiny and impunity.

Originally composed for livestreaming events during the ongoing lockdown of 2020, Felisha Ledesma presents two extended pieces as a debut album, “Sweet Hour”. Ledesma’s first full length release arrives after much experience in creating collaborative works with artists such as Isabella and Angelo Harmsworth, site-specific installations, and high-profile festival performances.

Both pieces were realized using a new software synthesizer, called “AMQR”, which Ledesma built for personal use in collaboration with Ess Mattisson. Contrary to many digitally-based compositions, a distinctly warm and organic palette pervades these recordings. An almost playful leisurely pace is employed, engaging the listener to listen deeper; the pieces gracefully evolve with special attention to subtle shifts in stereo field and sonic coloration.

The time-of-day titles illustrate the two distinct moods conveyed: "7:00 AM" integrates field recordings and a hardware modular synthesizer, taking the listener through a psycho-acoustic journey exploring various nooks and crannies of subdued auditory rivulets: perhaps a hidden woodland brook, a sunny glen, a crunchy gravel walkway. "2:00 AM" harkens to the memories of nightclubs, opening with a synthesized arpeggio which could lead into a dancefloor-ready stomper. But instead, Ledesma steps back, allowing the arpeggio to develop into an encompassing ASMR-like timbral massage. The two compositions are united in a slightly melancholic grasping for connection; are they unfolding or are they unraveling? Ledesma does not answer the question outright, but instead finds joy in superposition and sublimation - while creating a space for the listener to inhabit, to live in, and to re-connect.

Felisha Ledesma is a multi-disciplinary artist currently based in Berlin, GER. In Portland, OR, Ledesma co-founded and directed numerous organizations focused on experimental sound and community engagement such as S1 (an artist-run space) and the Synth Library (a lending library for electronic music equipment). Most recently Felisha co-founded Fors (fors.fm), creating "novel instruments that are elegant to use and adventurous in sound" in collaboration with Ess Mattisson and is studying sonic arts at Universität der Künste, Berlin.
