Tech minimalist singer songwriter home production; one way to stay inspired. Band mates, producers, technicians… none of these have ever furthered my inspiration. Nor have they helped me create and distribute my art more than inspiration. It is possible that more real estate will help me organize people and equipment in a way that furthers the goal and the means: inspiration. 

I still have plenty of company in the studio. Companies like Ableton, Alvarez, Apollo, and Apple. 

I am only grateful for the opportunity to exercise true creative control, and assume all legal credit for my products, and my career, without ambiguity. 

Internet marketing, however, is expensive, and presents an economic barrier to entry into the digital marketplace for the Indie musician. So even in the digital age, the music industry remains under cartel control. 

Live performance and human connection are the true product being sold. Recordings are but simulacra of the true Art, which in the music business at least, is only the Artist.

An Artist, is but one who practices self ownership. This requires the relinquishment of many other rights and duties. It can even lead to death, before it leads to a dollar. 

There are reasons available for any choice, and the value of our reasons is reducible to that choice. 

I have chosen freedom in life. This means I cannot be bought in the usual ways. My financial success therefore incurred delays. 

Choosing freedom also means being willing to disagree, with everything, if it contradicts the Art., which as I’ve said, is only the Artist. 

This path is not for the many. But it is mine; it is the one thing I would not relinquish.
