I opened the Communion Stage for The Great Beyond up in Minnesota this weekend. It was such an amazing experience, and to share in it with all the artists and guests was truly out of this world. I had a lot of fun with this set, taking it from 136bpm all the way to 158. 3pm on opening day of a 3 day event is a cool spot, and being the first to play on a stage and open it up comes with a lot of honor. This was all improvised, with only the first track planned. I let my magic flow through me and the Divine take control. Additionally I also threw in a little Live PA for one track, written and performed on a Roland T-8. First time incorporating a live setup into a DJ set and it was so much fun, plus hearing your own music on a sound system like what was on the Communion Stage ((A full Void setup)) is out of this world!!! I adored seeing everyone dancing, and I hope that I set out the weekend right. Huge thanks to Intellephunk, Enemy, Minnesota River Valley Sanctuary, all my friends and music family.

AfroAmericat Productions in Madison WI invited me up to perform at this amazing underground event that absolutely blew me away. The event was about being free, and this was the most free I have felt I have felt in a long time.  

This set is about the anger I feel as a trans sapphic person right now. Iowa, my current state I live in, is targeting both trans rights and gay marriage. 

This set is about resistance. Resistance to the systems that oppress and cause harm such as Bigotry. Fascism. Homophobia. Transphobia. Capitalism. Racism. 

This set is about the love and joy I feel when being surrounded by other people like me. 

And finally this set is about hope. I believe we can overcome. We can see the changes we desperately cry out for.

I had an amazing time this weekend in Minneapolis for a super fun event, The Ninth Gate. It was a goth night with the theme of opening the nine gates of hell under the guise of a vampire masquerade. The visuals were stunning, and the dance floor had an awesome energy. "Liara Kaylee Tsai is DJ and producer who taps into the divine through her use of hypnotic acid electro and techno sounds. Her sets are an expression of her magic, weaving spells to show those who listen the sacred. To be on the dance floor during a performance is to surrender and become one with nothing and everything simultaneously. It is her hope that she can show those who are willing to pierce the veil and recognize their own divinity and power. She is currently based in Minneapolis, but travels throughout the Midwest to conduct sonic pilgrimages. Occasionally her fox spirit Kitsy, who she hosts and shares a corporeal form with, shares the stage with her."
