VVELTSCHMERZ is a DJ and producer hailing from Trondheim, Norway. He started playing CD’s at his local youth club back in 2001 and has been an avid record collector since the 90’s. His sets can be described as journeys through the harder sides of electronic music – both old and new. From dirty acid and warehouse techno, to pounding hard house, trance, hardstyle, oldskool gabber and industrial hardcore. No matter what he plays; his aim is always to create a memorable night on the dance floor.

Some of his recent bookings include warm-up for Might Be Twins (Kulturfabrikken Kristiansund), Frequent Friday (Stereo) and Bass-On (Vers Libre) in Bergen, Kristiansund Kunsthall, Give Me A Break (TYVEN), TRØNDERDOME (CLUB-WONDERLAND / Lager11), Technophilia (Trykkeriet Scene), PaaDyptVann (HAVET Arena), and warm-up for Onleash (Lokal Klubb) in Trondheim.

He is the founder of the club concept UNTERVVELT (est. 2022), co-founder of Heart House (est. 2024, co-run with MØRK), and he is also one of the curators and organizers behind the art-and-club-event series KunstKLUBB (est. 2019). As of 2023, he holds a monthly residency on Fnoob Techno Radio (UK) where he has played alongside names like Reinier Zonneveld and PETDuo.

In addition to DJ’ing and producing, he is a visual artist and one half of the artist-duo Mikalsen & Marhaug; working within the fields of performance and sound art, improvised live techno, harsh noise and power electronics – often intertwined. Having experience(s) across a variety of (sub-)genres has gained him musical understanding that transcends the borders of genres, as well as the ability to cross-breed them into new soundscapes – in the mix.
