FREQUENCY UNDERGROUND INTERVIEW WITH MALAWARE:

◾Real Name: Angel Malagon

◾Current city:  Greenville, SC

◾How did you come up with your dj name:  

Malaware is a combination of two words, my last name “Malagon” and “warehouse”. Before I launched my brand, I had a different alias where I honestly had no idea what I was doing with music. But somehow I always kept going back to those warehouse sounding techno vibes. Funny enough, I was in San Diego with a group of talented artists, and they were talking about warehouse parties, I did not know what exactly was a warehouse party back then so I asked. Everyone thought I was joking, but I was dead serious. They ended up explaining but could not believe I was already making music that is mostly for warehouse shows without me even realizing those existed. 

◾How and when did you get into djing: 

I guess it all started back in high school. I was a very shy kid, never was into gaming… a very antisocial kid. Music was the only thing I’ve always had by my side. So I want to share that joy and pleasure with those who  want to forever keep a young soul. Because I am 100% convinced there is no better feeling than seeing a group of people dancing like if there was no tomorrow.  

◾Who are your musical influences and what is your inspiration: 

There’s only handpicked number of artists that have made an impact in my life as an artist, such as i_o, Gesaffelstein, deadmau5, Umek and Boris Brejcha

◾Describe your sound as a DJ: 

Oh this is a tough one. From what I been told, my music has a dark and raw tone. But I mostly focus on delivering a driven energy. 

◾What does the future hold in store for you as an artist: 

I am currently working on maturing my sound. The plan is to develop a sound that fulfills the entire room and you realize you are no longer in control of your body.
