Remembrance Soundscapes is the music only version of the transformational album and guide for embodiment, Remembrance. A one of a kind collaboration between five artists, including Vylana, Aubrey Marcus, Poranguí, Amani Friend (Liquid Bloom), and Eric Zang.  Remembrance Soundscapes presents these powerful offerings in their purely musical form for listeners to experience without any guidance.  With five transformational soundtracks, this album serves as a guide to support the awakening of humanity to the sacred instrument of the human body. Through the technology of ancient and modern sound design and resonant intentionality, the listener embarks on a journey through various states of consciousness to meet themselves at a deeper level. By moving energy through breath, dance, and meditation, the listener may better remember their purpose— empowering them to be of greater service, for the good of all. 

The concept of the Remembrance albums and the creation of the band, For the Good of All, is the fruition of a prayer planted as a seed over a decade past. Poranguí knew then that music would be created with Aubrey’s spoken word poetry.  Stepping into the sacred role as producer, Poranguí called in some of his favorite collaborators: Amani Friend of Liquid Bloom, whose extensive experience producing electronic music graces the album, and Eric Zang, a masterful multi-instrumentalist and mixing engineer who along with Vylana Marcus’s celestial vocals helped finish this all-star ensemble.   Special featured artists include East Forest on piano and Indrajit Roy-Chowdhury on sitar to complement this rich sonic journey. 

The Soundscapes version of the album offers a lush musical bed for listeners, inspired by many cultures, including musical influence from Vylana’s Ploynisian heritage as well as the Hindu tradition’s use of prayer, breath, dance, meditation, and service. The track titles have been named in honor of these ancient traditions. These embodiment practices are inherent to us all and by going on this journey, the listener can be in clear Remembrance, For the Good of All.

The album “Goddess Rise” is both a heroine’s journey, and Vylana’s autobiography. It starts by taking the listener into the moment of awakening to the remembrance that the divine is within us all. It journeys through grief, sacred rage, boundary, erotic allurement, and ultimately the rebirth as an embodiment of both the human and the divine. The solo album is poised to release in 2022 and will be accompanied by a stunningly cinematic and dangerously raw visual album. The inspiration for the album was based on her own journey to remembering the full potency of her feminine expression. Her desire is for the album to be both cathartic and inspiring for the listener. 

This album is not just music, it is truth expressed through sound. It is vulnerable authenticity, invoked as an invitation to bravery. And that’s the only way that Vylana would have it.

Goddess Rise

Closing into Bodhisattva—the call to service—through Aubrey’s spoken word poetry, the listener discovers what happens when we devote our life to something bigger than ourselves. In collaboration with Eric Zang, East Forest adds piano chords to create a sound bed that is completing, yet also contemplative. And, guiding with nurturing yet mysterious vocals, Vylana serves as the loving and intuitive wisdom of the universe that calls the listener home.

In Atman, the listener enters into a samadhi state, by tapping into their own soul and coming into stillness. After a unified all-sound of “om”, Vylana leads a vocal journey where the soul soars. By blending melody and harmony, the listener has a subliminal resurrection and is reborn—fully remembered.

Atman

Nataraja is where breath turns to fire as the journey leads into a guided ecstatic dance. During this track, the listener awakens to a free and exuberant life by burning through limiting constructs. In honor of Vylana's Polynesian heritage, Poranguí and Eric Zang weave world cultures and primordial sound into modern soundscapes, and Amani Friend displays his dance track genius. By dancing on the earth and moving the fire through the body, this allows the shadow aspects of self to transform into playful expression.

Moving into Prana, the breathwork portion of the journey, Aubrey guides an experience that reawakens the latent power of breath. Featuring Vylana’s angelic vocalization and a traditional Indian sitar played by Indrajit Roy-Chowdhury, a dynamic sonic space serves as an invitation for the listener to explore the layers within.

The opening track is Puja—an offering of gratitude for the five elements to set the space for the forthcoming journey. By dropping into the body and out of the head, the listener leaves the average day to day frequencies, entering into a place of ancient remembrance and heightened vibration.

“Phoenix” set to release August 19, 2022 is the first single from the forthcoming project, “Goddess Rise”. The setting of the track is established by the ancient future tribal rhythms of breakout producer Savej, and opens with a rising wave of Laura Escude’s cinematic violins, setting the tone for the gentle ferocity expressed by Vylana’s powerful vocals. Vylana’s versatility and performance dances between singing and spoken word, pulling from elements of world music, trance, tribal, and mantra. The story of the track follows the arc of a great ceremony, celebrating the alchemy of pain into liberation. Guiding the listener through a journey of invocation, “Phoenix” can be described as climactic, inspiring, and undeniably activating.
