CHORDS - Magic Circle

When you first sit down at a blank project sometimes you need a fresh hit of motivation and creativity. That’s why CHORDS is here for you. Originally designed for EDM productions, but useful for a variety of genres, this clever workstation will conjure chords of all shapes and sizes with just a couple of clicks. Try out new ideas for your tracks within the intuitive interface and let this plugin take the strain, from suggesting single 4-note chords to producing entire 8-chord riffs.

Place this MIDI effect ahead of any MIDI-triggered audio generating plugin and hit play in your DAW. The innovate software will generate looped options for up to 8 chords with full control over chord shape, inversions, velocity and more. Then just drag the MIDI straight from the plugin to your project, letting your creativity flow freely, guided by the suggestions from CHORDS.

Global or Granular

Use the global controls to adjust inversions, length, speed and root key of the entire playback, making on-the-fly adjustments to your entire riff a simple process. To get into the detail, click a segment for more granular control over chord shapes (including major / minor variations), individual inversions and velocity. 

Simple Segments

With up to 8 segments, each containing a different chord type, you can choose to trigger between one and four notes per chord. The playback of these segments syncs to the host BPM of your DAW, always remaining locked in time. You can add and subtract segments with ease and change a range of parameters, independently for each segment. 

Essential Parameters 

Each segment can be programmed with inversions from -6 to +6, transforming chord shapes and placing the root note inside of the chord itself. Experiment by pushing the lowest notes up an octave, or highest notes down an octave, turning your chords inside out.

Just The Tonic

With your chords loaded and a segment chosen, use the 18 buttons in the centre of the interface to choose Tonic, Subdominant or Dominant chord shapes. From simple triads, right through to more complex shapes, let CHORDS find the right notes for any related chord. Fancy a G7sus4 or a Bm7b5? Just let this plugin find the correct notes and work out the difficult stuff for you.

Export MIDI

To get the chord progressions into your own projects, simply drag and drop from the plugin to your DAW. Then you can edit to your heart’s content, chopping up the MIDI, transposing and twisting the CHORDS suggestions to suit your own style of music.

What Earth would have been without the water?!
pH ranges from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral. pH's less than 7 are acidic while pH's greater than 7 are alkaline, most known like basic.
pH is really a measure of the relative amount of free hydrogen and hydroxyl ions in the water. Water that has more free hydrogen ions is acidic, whereas water that has more free hydroxyl ions is basic. Since pH can be affected by chemicals in the water, pH is an important indicator of water that is changing chemically.

Deboom, Demud & Level

Those who are familiar with BassShaper’s sister plugin “Kickshaper” will remember the Deboom dial. Although sharing a name, the algorithm is entirely different and this time designed specifically for bass information. Activated by amplitude, boominess is tamed, resulting in a cleaner tone.

Using a special pitch tracking system, the Demud control dynamically reduces muddiness caused by note transitions and resonances, making individual pitches more pronounced.     
Traditional bass-riding plugins crudely alter the volume level of bass lines. BassShaper’s Level control is far more refined, driven by a pink noise signal, specially tuned to tame amplitude fluctuations and produce a consistently audible bass throughout your track. 
     
Punch & Fade

Sadly, bass compression tends to uniformly compress the entire bass line. However,  BassShaper’s Punch knob works differently. Targeting only the transient-heavy portions of the bass line, it applies precise compression or expansion, focussing on the initial milliseconds of each note for a super-defined reproduction.

The Fade control works inversely to Punch, by compressing or expanding only the tail portion of the audio. This allows you to shorten long bass notes or lengthen short ones, giving you another creative way to integrate bass lines with your other instrumentation.

Subtone

DETROUBLER isn't just blindly stabbing at frequencies. It's operating from the science of psychoacoustics, pinpointing those sonic irritations that even the most seasoned ears might miss. This plugin uses techniques such as Fletcher-Munson curves and the Bark Scale to decipher the very essence of auditory discomfort. Listen & Learn

Six ways to Success

The glowing orbs surrounding the main Detrouble knob function as clickable meters for each area of frequencies. Enable or disable processing in each area by clicking. The brighter the orbs, the greater the processing. If a certain orb shows minimal activity, your audio is already in great shape and no gain reduction needs to be applied by the plugin. 

Areas for Improvement

There are six distinct areas that DETROUBLER focuses on. The plugin uses psychoacoustic principles to make changes, improving the sound of frequency bands and their corresponding masking frequencies according to the Bark Scale.
     
Boomy : Excessive low-frequency resonance, often in the 100-250 Hz range, making the sound overpowering or lacking clarity.

Boxy : A hollow or resonant sound, usually due to excessive energy around 250-500 Hz, making instruments (especially drums and vocals) sound like they’re playing in a small box.
      
Muddy : Lack of clarity due to overlapping frequencies in the 200-500 Hz region, often causing instruments to blend indistinctly.

Honky : A nasal, resonant midrange quality, typically around 500-1500 Hz, making vocals or instruments sound somewhat brassy. 
      
Harsh : Overly aggressive or piercing high-mid frequencies, often in the 2-6 kHz range, causing listener fatigue.

Sizzle : Excessive, uncontrolled high-frequency energy in the 8-12 kHz range, sometimes making cymbals or vocals sound overly bright or artificial.
