Let’s face it, you already own a delay plugin... probably more than one. That’s awesome, but you haven’t heard anything like Multibender. 

With delicious multi-band processing and 4 (count ‘em) simultaneous delay modules, Multibender is your tempo-synced solution to creative delay processing. Conjure intricate percussion patterns, wild ping-pong synths and grooving leads with just a few clicks, or less if you use one of the inspirational presets. Each individual delay band has bespoke effects to transform boring keys into wobbly vintage progressions, or tighten up your flabby bass parts with distortion and saturation for dance-floor domination.

Multiband Madness

The delay processing is split into 3 separate modules, linked to the standard delay controls at the top of the interface, although they can all be adjusted independently. Drag the crossover points in the waveform display to quickly set up the frequency ranges of the 3 bands. Then choose a delay time (including dotted and triplet feel), feedback level and gain adjustment for each. This means that you can have a short delay for your low end and longer ones for mids and highs to send them bouncing around the room. On and off buttons for each band allow you to disable any unwanted processing, just in case you want to keep your bass line tight or mid-range clean.

Saturate, Crush & Detune

Standard delays for each of the 3 bands sound complex and expansive, but you can push the effect to the limit with 3 effects for each band. These run completely independently of one another and include saturation, bitcrush and detuning. Apply as much or as little of each process as you like to create different kinds of audio effect. Try introducing sparkling highs with saturated harmonics in the upper frequency range. Detune the midrange delay for a wavering analogue feel in the body of the sound. Make your bass line scream with crushed low end. 

No HAASsle

The built in HAAS control of the main delay unit can create a subtle stereo effect by shifting the timing offset of the left or right channel - a tried and trusted technique for adding space and width to your delay adventures.  

Looks are everything

The central window shows exactly what’s happening to each of the 3 bands as the audio passes through the plugin, useful visual feedback to keep tabs on your signal transformations. The 3 coloured waveforms clearly display the effect of each module’s processing allowing for accurate monitoring and surgical shaping at every stage of the chain.

Global or Granular

Simple Segments

With up to 8 segments, each containing a different chord type, you can choose to trigger between one and four notes per chord. The playback of these segments syncs to the host BPM of your DAW, always remaining locked in time. You can add and subtract segments with ease and change a range of parameters, independently for each segment. 

Essential Parameters 

Each segment can be programmed with inversions from -6 to +6, transforming chord shapes and placing the root note inside of the chord itself. Experiment by pushing the lowest notes up an octave, or highest notes down an octave, turning your chords inside out.

Just The Tonic

With your chords loaded and a segment chosen, use the 18 buttons in the centre of the interface to choose Tonic, Subdominant or Dominant chord shapes. From simple triads, right through to more complex shapes, let CHORDS find the right notes for any related chord. Fancy a G7sus4 or a Bm7b5? Just let this plugin find the correct notes and work out the difficult stuff for you.

Export MIDI

The audio processing is now much clearer, with a top-to-bottom approach so it’s now easy to follow the signal flow and create amped-up overdrive.

Of course, we’ve also included loads of factory presets to kickstart your distortion discoveries, from extreme settings for smashing your audio, to more tempered values for vocals, bass and drums. Use these presets as jumping-off points and then adjust the drive, blend, filters and other parameters to create your unique sound. 
 
Blend 10 Devastating Distortion Types

The whole concept of HEAT 2 is to apply twin distortion and then shape the signals so that your audio is powerful, yet retains musicality. The starting point for this are the 10 different types of modelled distortion. These models all have adjustable drive levels. With a wide range of different distortion type you can easily craft every timbre from subtle harmonics to blow-the-doors-off distortion. Each of these 10 types of processing will produce a different character and timbre, so experiment by blending between them using the central dial. 
 
Twin Filters

These two filter controls allow you to shape your distortion far more musically than stock plugins. Separately adjust the High and Low frequency cut off parameters for the two different distortion modules. For example, you might only want to crush the mid-range of a synth part, giving it more crunch and power. Or maybe just distort the lowest frequencies of a fat kick drum. Combine two different types of distortion with two different filter shapes and get your audio production-ready with the precision of surgical saturation. 
 
Input, Output & Mix Ratio

Use the Input and Output sliders to compensate for any gain boost or reduction caused by the distortion chambers with up to +/- 48dB attenuation. This allows for very accurate comparisons when A/Bing. Use the Mix ratio control at the bottom centre of the interface to dial in as much (or as little) of the distortion types as you need. Apply a conservative ratio for subtle saturation and sweetening, or push the control further to hear the 100% destroyed signal.

5 Saturation Types

Choose type A for a subtle tube effect, or type E for overblown circuitry... and everything in-between. Experiment for yourself by cycling through the different saturation options and tweaking the saturation mix dial to taste. 

Controls You Know

As well as producing creative ways to compress audio, COMBUSTOR is also easy to use, with controls familiar to anyone who’s ever used a standard compressor. All of the normal compressor controls are present and correct: threshold, attack, release, ratio and knee. We’ve even included a sidechain mode for effortless external triggering. With generous parameter ranges, you should be able to achieve almost any compression effect that you need, from transient shaping to glueing tracks together.

Low & High Frequency Split 

The main concept behind Put Me On Drums is in the way it splits audio into high and low frequency modules for independent processing. Adjust the crossover from 20Hz to 20kHz to find the perfect mid-point for your drum processing, with different effects applied to each of the frequency bands. 

Low Module

Controls for the low frequency band include Belly, Punch, Sub Tail, Length and EQ adjustments. Saturate your low end with “Belly” and control the transient level sent into the saturator with “Punch”. Drum characteristics can be tweaked and tails extended with the “Sub Tail” button and “Length” dial, making 808s shine with upper harmonics or kicks ring out for longer. Focus the processing on a particular band, or notch out problematic frequencies with the EQ controls. 

High Module 

Controls for the high frequency band include Frequency Shifter, Dimension, Width and EQ adjustments. This plugin makes it easy to shape the upper frequencies of hi-hats and snares, using a clever combination of formant shifting additional voices. Select your target frequency with the “Frequency Shifter” dial, then control the overall formant feel with the “Shift” knob. This makes it easy to retune high percussion to fit with the key of your track, or just push the harmonic content a little more for shimmer and sparkle. Spread the dimension effect around the stereo field with the “Width” control and focus top-end processing on a particular band with EQ adjustments.

Unique Controls

In addition to the “standard” reverb controls that you know and love, KSMR Reverb hosts several panels of special features; Volume Manager, Tone Manager and Special FX. These functions help to shape your reverb tail in unique ways. This enables your original signal to hit hard, then have the reverb surgically shaped to give a controlled feel of silky ambience (or far more powerful effects if you prefer). 

Volume Manager

With ducking, fade-in and gating controls, the Volume Manager is the easiest way to sculpt the tail of your reverb. Set a Ducking Threshold level and the reverb signal will be lowered every time the original signal volume exceeds the threshold. Then set fade-in time for a smooth tail fade. The Gate control silences your reverb completely when it falls below the level of the Gate Threshold, taming pesky tails that run rampant over your audio.

Tone Manager

Audio with frequent chord changes and long reverb tails can be challenging to work with. Tone Manager assists by eliminating harsh attacks from the reverb signal, enhancing its tonality. Tonal Reset is another invaluable tool, restarting the reverb every time a new transient is detected; making chords that bleed into one another a thing of the past.

Special FX

Reverse mode continually ramps up the volume of the reverb tail until a new transient is detected. You can also dial in an additional harmony Octave to thicken the timbre. This processing sounds awesome on synths and vocals.

Chord Mode

Freq & Hype Matrix

The XY pad at the centre of OBSIDIAN is where the magic happens, with a central node that can be dragged or automated in your DAW to creatively move between different processing styles. FREQ controls the frequency and shape of the audio-rate modulation. HYPE sets the modulation depth and other special parameters. This secret combination of FX creates additional harmonics that add excitement and colour to your sounds. In essence, the incoming signal is modulated at a very high rate and then formant shifted, before being passed through a spectral delay line.

Creative Spectral Delay

The delay unit within OBSIDIAN is something rather beautiful. Containing controls for TIME, MODE and FEEDBACK, this module returns audio to the main matrix to create ever-shifting feedback. This is a delay with deceptively simple controls that has many creative uses; rhythmic effects, ambient textures, subtle vocal thickening and big-room synth echoes. Delay TIME can be changed, from 10ms - 2s to straight, triplet and dotted note partitions. Change the MODE time to freeplay, or sync to the BPM of your host project. Adjust FEEDBACK from 0-100% with precise control. 

Randomization

When you’re stuck for ideas, or just want OBSIDIAN to suggest a magical metamorphosis, hit the central dice icon. The XY pad will be randomized, automatically choosing some stunning effects to shape your audio.

Mix

For creative purposes it’s useful to be able to mix the effected audio that OBSIDIAN produces with the original source audio. Use the Mix slider for this and conjure every kind of processing from subtle transformations, to full-on dub-style modulations that spin into infinity.

About Neon Glow

The inner workings of this special plugin are a closely guarded secret, with the controls only hinting at the vast amount of special processing going on under the hood. In real terms, what you need to know is that many of these modules are interlinked, with transformations from one module affecting others in weird and wonderful ways. Inspiring, unusual and always musical; the output from Neon Glow will overhaul individual instruments, vocals, or even your entire mix with characterful transformations that bring Arcade’s own bespoke FX chains into your productions.

Lo-Fi

The central Lo-Fi control remixes your sound with new-retro vibes by using an elaborate network of processors and two extra submodules, Redux and Space. In the final mix, the Lo-Fi parameter controls the mix of Redux and Space as well as its own processors.

Redux

Controls a complex series of filters and bit reduction processors which are part of the Lo-Fi module, to add a digital retro sound to the signal. When set at 0, the effect has a minimal impact on the sound, only audible in specific material. Move the control clockwise or counterclockwise to hear the real magic, introducing bit reduction and filtering, both warmer and cooler, depending on which way you turn the dial. 

Space

Neon Glow houses a complicated network of chorus effects as part of the Lo-Fi module, and the Space control is where you’ll introduce these transformations for a unique sense of spaciousness. When set at 0, the effect is a retro multi-chorus chain. Twist the dial counterclockwise to add a more traditional multi-chorus effect. Move the control the opposite way to degrade the signal using the micro delays of the module. 

Wash

The Wash fader adds a special wash effect with spacial elements, using a configuration of filters, stereo expanders, and psychoacoustically widened diffusion generators. Use the Wash Character dial to change the essential attributes of the Wash effect. A whole rack of effect parameters are altered; from the sense of width, to late reflection values on the diffusion generators. Be sure to experiment with these two controls to give your audio the unique character it deserves.

One Knob To Rule Them All

Whether you're dialling in subtle enhancements or pushing the boundaries of sonic experimentation, this knob is the starting point. Turn the Depth dial to scale every other parameter with this single control, introducing saturation, 3D effects, frequency shaping and more. The harder you twist the dial, the more outrageous the effect will become, so use with care.

Color Your World

Controls for Hue, Saturation and Luminance shape the color profile in interesting and sometimes surprising ways. Tweak these dials to give your guitars sparkle, or give acoustic instruments more body. For quick and easy transformations, the 32 color palette gives a plethora of starting points for your sound shaping. Categorised into Dark, Light, Vivid and Soft, these different flavors of tone shaping are easy to browse and can give your audio an instant lift, with just one click.

Resonate the Space

Two controls which are integral to the creative mutations of ChromaBox are Space and Resonate. Space adjusts the amount of reflections within a simulated 3D space with character that’s dependent on color profile selection. Resonate controls resonant peaks that can ring out, again with timbre changes based on your chosen color profile. 

Visual Feedback & Comparison

ChromaBox is built on vector graphics with a resizable interface. A live frequency spectrum is displayed on the right hand side, showing exactly what’s happening to the signal as it travels through the plugin in real time. This allows for accurate monitoring at every step of the chain. For those who like to experiment, contrast different processing chains with AB comparison and copy / paste. Use the undo / redo buttons to revert any changes. 

Presets

ChromaBox includes a huge number of factory presets, suitable for all kinds of audio processing in multiple genres. Use the provided parameters as starting points for your own transformations, to bring the best out of your sounds.
