When Insanity Becomes The Cure is a studio band who writes songs that are not within the mainstream requirements, (such as song lengths and titles).  The band believes that a good song will be good, regardless of what society wants, and to be more focused on what the band wants.  We make music for ourselves, for fun and for people who respect and appreciate good quality Epic Metal. Innovative Guitarist John Meaker and Bass Player Gary Ashford (Holly & The Woods) founded this project in Early 2008, when they began writing songs that they both thought would be a break from the Hard Rock/Commercial music they were used to making at the time, that fitted certain criteria. 
 Growing up with Metal Influences like Metallica and with a clear vision, the writing process started taking shape inside Gary's home studio in Benoni. They would call this project "Deux Ex Machina" - which means "God from the Machine".

 By 2010 - A total of 10 Tracks were recorded, with Programmed Drums and full guitar harmonies all done by John and Gary themselves.
 Although the songs had the power and Structure it needed, it lacked something.... Something human...

 Lyrics and Singing were needed to give the music some depth, so the natural next step was to recruit a vocalist...
 Chaz Nielsen, a talented and diverse vocalist from the East Rand of Johannesburg responded to an add on a Social Network and came in contact with John. After a year of writing with the band, Chaz and the guys decided to take a Hiatus. John Got Married and Gary and his wife were expecting their second child. Chaz had since founded another band - "Because of Betrayal" with Drummer Byron Horn and things were taking off.

 3 Years had past when John contacted Chaz again...
 They discussed the possibility of a reunion and before they knew it, they were back in studio writing and recording, only this time, it was at South Africa's finest Studio called RedRoom, with Lengendary Producer Jared Gunston (Chromium). The songs now had all the power, quality and depth it needed, but once again need something... Something Human...

 Byron Horn Recorded the drums for the debut album and was instantly added to the line-up as a drummer - the band was finally complete, but it made sense to change the name...
 After all that had happened and all the chaos surrounding just getting to that point in time where things were whole and solid, the band found it appropriate to name the band:
