i stay in a building
with hallways and walls
not many doors
to open or close
sometimes this stucco reads like braille to me
leads me by touch through condemned memories
but it's an ugly thing to sing out loud
when i'm all alone like this i feel more alive and less pinned down
today i have a question tomorrow i won't
too many words too loud to stay afloat
sometimes i can't see a thing in front of me
burned my whole house down to no good remedy

it's dark and loud but i need it like the sun
i hate it just the same
my dead end disposition has made a pretty good fool outta me
slammed shut the front door
then couldn't find my key
sometimes this weather feels like sycamore street to me
the numbers on the curb are starting to repeat
