I graduated with a BA in Music from Hampshire College in 1985. I opened my studio that January to offer private violin (fiddle), mandolin and guitar lessons. Now, 45 years later, I teach out of my home in Granby, MA and online. Here's an article about how Hampshire was formed. Wrote a song about it called "Hampshire Dreams"

Amherst, Smith, Mount Holyoke, and UMass by name,
Joined hands with a vision to change the game.

With a spark from the Ford Foundation's call,
Phil Combs said, “Build something new for all.”
A grant of twenty grand set the plan in motion,
To craft a college with a radical notion.
