Fuse resident Downside delivers the ninth release on Fuse Imprint with Traces Of Spring, a record that reflects both clean articulation and careful tension building. Across four tracks, he explores a balance of intensity and restraint, depicting a narrative that mirrors his evolving role within the club.

Opening with Until It Fades, the A1 sets a hypnotic tone through patient layering and ambient space, hinting at drama while maintaining subtlety. With Blackout Protocol, the atmosphere turns into focus through an imposing, clear low-end that takes control, driving a darker framework designed for moments of deepened urgency. On the flip, Revolt moves with raw immediacy, its rhythm pushing forward with detail and weight, yet strangely uplifting. Closing with the title track, Traces Of Spring offers a suspended atmosphere, delicate in rhythm and melody, it's a reflection of the fragile balance between soft synth tension hanging by a thread and a focused, monumental pace.

With this release, Downside contributes a coherent and articulate statement to the Fuse catalogue, one that captures both the physicality of the dancefloor and the subtleties that extend beyond it.

Befa is a DJ and producer from Sion, Switzerland, as well as resident and co-founder of the Nachtfalter collective. True fan of electronic music since childhood, Befa is now passionate about fast and groovy sounds. He’s known for bringing a distinctive energy behind the decks, blending driving kicks with catchy melodies, and surprising vocals.
After several years Djing, he’s now expanding into production, with a debut EP on a Spanish label and new projects on the way.

This set was recorded in a friend’s studio dedicated to supporting the electronic scene in Valais. For this set, Befa selected mostly fresh and never-played-before tracks, alongside a few highlights from his recent gigs. Starting off with organic, tribal techno and gradually increasing in tempo and intensity.
Guided by instinct, he doesn’t plan his sets around a fixed mood. Instead, he lets the music shape the emotion, following wherever it leads in the moment.
