Following up his first release on Wacks Records, Australia-based artist, Aloha, presents a selection of cooool beats, verses, and instrumentals that is distinctly his own. The totality of the project was of his own conception and execution, including the cover art. Keep a look out for this guy's up-and-coming work, he can't be stopped!

Grab a free download from Wacks co-founder Martim. Influenced by 90's UK garage/house, this track is a throwback to an imagined past spent grooving out in British warehouses. Follow the chopped up vocals, jumpy synth lines and dirty ol' bass to dancetown.

"I've been really focused on developing my own production techniques that I had forgotten what really inspired me to get back into music some six years ago: making mixes. It's been over two years since I've had the motivation to sit down and create something cohesive and true to myself. In that time, I've listened to and collected a lot of music from different genres that helped me get through some really challenging times. This mix has a nice spread in track selection and represents considerable growth in myself as a person and producer.

My production techniques have been sprawling lately from programming soft synths to improvised jams using analog hardware. For this mix, I wanted to make the best of both worlds by using a combination of digital and analog methods. I used Ableton to create a general outline which I sent through my E&S DJR400 mixer, with delay and reverb pedals on the send channel for effects. All the mixing was done live which meant that if I managed to mangle a track, I had to go back and rerecord the whole mix. Turns out that being picky and using this technique was very time consuming. Overall, I'm really happy with it turned out and hope everyone enjoys it!"
