This is a song that I wrote last summer before I left for school. It pretty much incompasses all of the anxiety that I had about leaving and just growing up in general. I hope you enjoy it

Deception

This was a collaboration with some of my friends in the local Raleigh, NC area.  Jeremy Porterfield (bass), Wade Harris (guitar), Edward Hinson (production, recording), and Patrick Carlton (drums) helped compose the music based on a song that I had a bare bones idea for.  Their talent definitely brought a lot of life to the song!  We've all been performing in the area for a while and it was fun to share these ideas and to work together on this.  We hope you all enjoy the music!

The First Will Be Last

Considering the fact that original song has roots in industrial rock itself with main riff being sampled from Nine Inch Nails it only made sense to go full circle and metalize this hip-hop megahit. My intention was to wtite something more akin to metalcore but add some djent-like riffs to make it sound less repetitious.

In terms of mixing I just wanted it to sound super heavy without being drowned in low frequences. I didn't bother with quad tracking guitars so I had to rely on bass and drums to create nice dynamic range and tight overall sound, I also didn't go to heavy on mastering volume since it was for a YouTube video.
