He fought hard, when those around him fell
Torn apart, they put him through his hell
Made him a man, the man he never knew
Gave him a plan, this time he followed through

He walked those miles, he climbed that hill
He earned his place, earned that eagle

He is three percent, muscle and mean
Earned a badge of honor, the title marine
Some say they heard it, in his battle cries

When his buddies fell, he picked them up
