Black Hibiscus

Ended a four year relationship and felt like I was floating somewhere between freedom and depression. Everything suspended. At first the vibe was space until I realized it was more like great depths under the ocean. I wanted these tracks to breath and be more freeform, to represent some of what i was feeling. The title is a riff on "Scott Pilgrim and the Infinite Sadness", which is itself a riff on *that* Smashing Pumpkins album

in 2019 i lived briefly in cape town, south africa and travelled to thailand and cambodia with 9 gen z's from a bunch of different nations. I made this album on the go and so it's very unfinished and raw, but it was also an exercise in moving away from perfectionism and embracing chaos and unepectedness. also I was listening to a lot of Jon Hopkins at the time :)
