Wägner is a musical project that I have been thinking to start when I was living in Berlin in 2017. The name came to my mind because of the famous German composer (who I ladmire for his absolutely intense music and for being an animal right activist) and from the Woody Allen's movie "Annie Hall", where Allen clearly admitted that after 10 minutes of listening to Wagner he had the pulse of invading Poland. After being back to my hometown of Palermo, Italy, where Richard Wagner himself composed the mithical "Parsifal", I started to look for musicians. After I found a guitar player (Giuseppe Scalici) and a drummer (Frank Julyan), we could only record one live-demo track and this first line-up then disbanded because of disagreement over my musical direction and the name of the band itself (!). At that point, after rehearsing other 2 guitar players (Giacinto Insinna and Sergio La Mantia) and founding difficulties in getting a good drummer, I decided to produce and record all the music by myself. Since I plan to move to Dublin very soon, I may chose to hire new musicians for the firs live show ever, so the future is yet to come. Talking about my musical influences here, you can hear Megadeth, Black Sabbath, Frank Zappa, John Zorn, Jazz, Blues.
