Machine Cult — the Amsterdam-based electronic platform run by Déandrah and Garçon Taupe — returns with the Edition Four release party at OT301 on 7 November.

The new V.A. compilation features tracks from Garçon Taupe, Bertram, 2:29, Beau Wanzer, Déandrah, and Masha Wordpress. At the launch, all contributing artists will play DJ sets, with Déandrah providing live visuals throughout the night.

Expect an evening of potent electronics and immersive visuals, celebrating the forefront of the underground.

Every motion leaves an echo.
A delay so small it feels like memory,
folding back into what made it.

Some parts of us cancel out — out of phase, out of step —
while others ring louder,
resonant at their point of friction.

The closer we listen,
the more we hear the shape of time itself:
not in repetition, but in resistance.

Turn the gain high enough,
and every system sings its own name.

Nothing moves forward without delay.
Every signal returns amended,
shifted by experience.

What we call resonance
is simply agreement through distortion —
a frequency where return and loss sound the same.

Civilization, too, is a filter:
attenuation at the edges,
a boost where the noise gathers.

Push the circuit far enough,
and even silence begins to oscillate —
slightly altered, slightly late.

The self is a comb filter —
a body made of delays and reflections.

What we say
returns a few milliseconds later.
At low frequencies, we disappear;
near our cut-offs, we bloom.

Maybe living
is just tuning the loop
until it almost sings itself apart,
but not quite — building toward a new start.

Parrish Smith makes his Dekmantel debut on the label’s sister imprint, UFO, with a blend of avant garde electronics and industrial. With the 'Sex, Suicide & Speed Metal EP', Dutch producer Parrish Smith works outside of the realm of genres and tempos, creating his own unique template of saturated, electronic post-punk, having won accolades from the likes of Nina Kraviz, and Ron Morelli along the way. An analogue purist at heart, Parrish Smith has already amassed a cult following with regular appearances on Red Light Radio, in which the anarcho-experimentalist broadcasts sessions of heavy industrialism, breakbeats and body music. 

Parrish Smith’s music brings together classic analogue gear and a love for the fusion of aggressive industrial sounds. With title track 'Sex, Suicide & Speed Metal', Parrish Smith channels his inner Alan Vega, with some screaming guitars, and 65bpm machine-crunching body beats, lurching into a sultry space of slick wave music. 'Mute' jacks up the feeling of tempo, rife with energetic drum machines, pulsing synths and retro-fitted vocals, similar to the sound of something Daniel Miller might have released himself back in the early 80s. 'SKINS', delves further into the mechanical, with a grinding bass that bleeds through the track’s entirety, while 'Fall into sin' sees him explore the world of deconstructed, gothic-pop yet further. Parrish Smith will be DJing, and performing live as Volition Immanent at this year’s Dekmantel Festival, to fulfil the festival’s charter of provocative, and intoxicating, energetic beat-filled music.

A society of sleepers, sleepwalkers, zombies... Nowadays, the monolithic organic mass that we represent is awake only in appearance.
Wrongly convinced of our awakening, we accept to be as anaesthetised so as not to perceive in detail all the ugliness of what our society is continuously creating.
It is possible at any moment to be startled and realise that we are not living in a dream but in a waking nightmare.
The fate we allow ourselves to inflict on minorities or other animal species... the totalitarian or corrupt governments that we allow to act with impunity and our selfishness in general are enough to psychologically shake most humans. This is probably why they have decided to let themselves be carried away like sleepers today. Keeping control of one's life, one's opinions or one's integrity requires an awakening that would confront them with the brutal reality of what we humans have put in place?
Wake up, you sleepers. The world is what it is and it will not be better until we come out of the lethargy that reigns as a tacitly accepted rule...

Eternity is an idealized notion of time. It attempts to abstract it from the equation that links it to the other mathematical values that govern the universe.



It had its course from Plato to Kepler and Galileo but is nowadays accepted as a theological and idealistic variable.



It is scientifically accepted and recognised since everything has a beginning and an end. Even the universe will eventually be torn apart and extinguished, if it does not collapse upon itself.



Today it is almost 14 billion years old and its size is about 92 billion light years.



To overcome gravity of earth, an object must reach 28'000 km/h. This is the orbital speed of satellites or the speed that rockets have to reach to get out of the atmosphere. Once in space, human objects can reach even higher speeds. For example, travelling probes can travel at the crazy speed of 17 kilometres per second.

The speed of light is 299,792,458 metres per second.



With our vision and experience, with our microscopic scale in the cosmos and our ephemeral existence, it is still easy for us to take refuge in a notion of eternity because deep down, this comfortable and simplistic explanation, although totally false, is reassuring.



It even generates even today business such as cryogenics which brings us back to the theories of Plato and Aristotle...



Deep down, we know and accept that nothing is eternal or even infinite... We simply use this psychological crutch so as not to sink into fear, ignorance or simply madness... Eternity is a promise that simply moves us forward!
