Lange hat es gedauert, aber nun gibt es einen Termin für die Wiedereröffnung der Distillery (@distillery-leipzig) – und ihr erfahrt sie zuerst bei uns. In unserem Hey-Hey-Podcast gibt ”Tille“-Betreiber Steffen Kache ein paar Einblicke in die neue Location und den schwierigen Weg zum Reopening.

Ende Mai 2023 endete die zweite Distillery-Ära an der Kurt-Eisner-Straße. Relativ schnell war klar: Es soll weitergehen an einer neuen Interim-Location – gar nicht weit entfernt, am Rand der Halle 7 auf der Alten Messe. Doch aus dem ursprünglich halben Jahr sind es am Ende mehr als zwei Jahre geworden. Und auch der Interimsgedanke scheint erstmal obsolet, denn ein möglicher Umzug der Distillery in das Gleisdreieck verzögert sich noch um ein mehr als ein Jahrzehnt (ja, richtig gelesen).

Doch nun gibt es Licht am Horizont: Es gibt einen Reopening-Termin, neue Ideen und Möglichkeiten und einiges zu erzählen. Für diese besondere Ausgabe unseres Hey-Hey-Podcasts traf sich unser frohfroh-Host Sebastian mit Falk von Sound of Leipzig (@sndoflpzg). Er begleitet die Leipziger Clubszene – und speziell die Distillery – seit vielen Jahren mit seinen Social-Media-Kanälen mit und hat das Interview mit Steffen Kache auf die Spur gebracht. Vielen Dank dafür.

Dela Nesto appeared with his underground music at venues as famous as KitKat for Gegen, Katerblau, About Blank, Schwuz and Refuge WorldWide. Their driving and emotionalizing sets are genrefluid creating an atmosphere of belonging and loving. Dela Nesto is writting their love story on the dance floor. Blending in bouncy, chunky house music and building bridges to Disco and even Techno with a twist of queer anthems and nostalgia.

Artist bio:
Mila Stern’s far over a decade-long career as a DJ and producer
has taken her from squat parties in Halle (eastern Germany), where
she first learned her craft, through the pulsing motley of Tel Aviv, to
her adopted home of Berlin and the epicenter of electronic club
culture. Her calm, commanding skill as a selector rapidly made her
a sought-after artist, with regular appearances at premier festivals
like Fusion, Nation of Gondwana, and Garbicz, and residencies at
Berlin’s legendary Kater Club and Station Endlos in Halle. Since
then, she’s transcended the boundaries of the Berlin underground,
bringing her signature style to the international circuit from Mexico
to Kazakhstan.

Mila delivers a groove-heavy aesthetic that has recently shifted
toward deeper, more focused energies — drawing on restrained
propulsion, textured sound design, and subtly evolving rhythms. Her
selections now balance minimalism and intensity, rooted in the
hypnotic but never stuck in genre constraints. What sets her apart is
a willingness to embrace unorthodox sonic spaces, explore the
beauty in harshness and dissonance, and embed arresting
moments in robust, rolling substructures. From her early days,
Mila’s sound has been shaped by a sense of counterculture and the
urge to break normative boundaries. Her DJ sets encapsulate a
vision of rave culture as expressive, eclectic, and non-judgmental.
She continues to draw on risqué, narrative-driven tracks and boldly
carves out new territory without compromise — even as the context
around her evolves.

As a DJ, producer, event organizer, former radio host, and label co-
founder, she pushes the envelope while rejecting genre dogma. In
2025, Mila co-founded the label MiZi MuZiK with long-time friend
and collaborator Mira—a platform shaped by their shared values of
autonomy and artistic integrity. While the label and Mila’s current
musical direction follow distinct paths, both are rooted in a deep
belief in sound that speaks for itself. Few artists balance deep floor
energy with such artistic clarity. Mila Stern continues to evolve her
sound while remaining grounded in a rave ethos that challenges
paradigms and makes space for what lies ahead.
