Mountain Altai — a sacred land where the breath of the wind gives birth to legends, where mountains become mirrors of eternity, and rivers flow through the music of time. To celebrate three years of [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB], we unveil a grand sonic chronicle — a 12-volume anthology dedicated to the Mountain Altai. 108 tracks, 108 stories woven by artists from different countries and cities, united into a single sonic map that reveals the beauty and greatness of this sacred region through sound. Perhaps one day, after hearing this message, You’ll feel the call to see it for Yourself. Until then, we invite every listener to journey through the most beautiful and legendary places of Mountain Altai — one of the most mystical corners of our planet.

The first chapter is devoted to the Chuysky Trakt — the road leading straight into the heart of the myth. The Chuysky Trakt connects Siberia and Mongolia, the realms of humans and spirits, time and dimensions. It is a path laid through ridges, rivers, and steppes — following the Katun and the Chuya rivers — and leading to the very heart of the Altai Mountains. Every turn here is a boundary between worlds, every mountain pass a gate, and every stone holds the memory of millennia. Each track is like a stone in the Katun River, a cloud over Mount Belukha, a reflection of light on the morning surface of Lake Teletskoye.

Mountain Altai VA is not just a compilation — it is a stellar dub techno collection dedicated to mountains, rivers, and people. It is a symbolic road, a line connecting spaces, cultures, and souls. Vol. 1 opens the gates to our sonic pilgrimage through Mountain Altai. The first part marks the beginning of the journey along the Chuysky Trakt — a road that leads not only through the mountains but deep within oneself.
Thus begins our sound odyssey: Mountain Altai VA.

The electronic music I love spans from new Berlin-style techno and Clone Records-esque electro to gothy darkwave and all the way over to italo. You can hear this range in my monthly radio show The Ghost in the Machine. 

Thanatophobe lean heavily into the lighter italo sound - it's a bit of a guilty-pleasures set, full of unabashed emotion (which is what makes this genre so glorious) and a generous dash of French vocals, which I find impossible to resist. We’re sure you’ll enjoy this mix!

Emesh, the brainchild of Antonio Muñoz, emerges from the enchanting region of La Alcarria, Spain, as a true visionary in music. With an extraordinary ability to weave together electronic, ambient, slow trance, IDM, and dub, he crafts captivating sonic landscapes that resonate deeply with the soul. Since 2013, his journey with Sendero Records has transformed the auditory experience, offering a rich and diverse palette of sound that both moves and soothes.

Antonio's musical journey began in the vibrant 1980s as a resident DJ at the iconic Deadly club in Brihuega. His undeniable talent quickly propelled him to Madrid's most prestigious venues, including the Círculo de Bellas Artes and Mondo, where he performed under the name Dujay. In the early 2000s, he took the lead in pioneering deep trance and progressive house in the city by founding the underground Darkbeat parties, forever changing the local music scene.

But Emesh is much more than a music producer; Antonio is a sound healer who masterfully bridges ancient wisdom with contemporary beats. His expertise in Tibetan singing bowls and shamanic drums adds a unique spiritual depth to his productions, enriching the listening experience. His dedication to his craft shines through in every facet of his work, from warming up for the legendary James Holden in 2003 to creating intricate soundscapes and performing concerts with his bowls at Alcoy University.

Antonio's global acclaim reached new heights at the London Music Conference 2020, where he captivated audiences at the renowned fabric nightclub in London. Currently, he is conjuring musical magic at his Elul studio, where Emesh continues to break barriers with groundbreaking releases and innovative collaborations that showcase his ever-evolving artistry. His recent indie electronic EP with Miss Zagato and contributions to esteemed labels such as Initiate Rec., Piranha Siberia Dub, Blue Lotus, Velvet Dub Collective, Dublucid, Linee Sonore, Systolic, and Something Special demonstrate his prolific creativity.
