Syz made his debut on Control Freak Recordings in late 2019 with the outstanding Bunzunkunzun EP, showcasing a refined and unique production style which draws upon a diverse range of touchpoints from across the spectrum of UK club music.

Since then he's become a core part of the CF family, and he'll be joining us for his first proper Cabin Fever set next month at The Cause, where he joins Simo Cell & Ehua in The Garage - as part of a stacked multi-room party featuring Barker (live), Anthony Linell & further special guests TBA.

Following on from his beautiful ‘Solidify’ EP on Control Freak Recordings, Awo Ojiji brings his signature genre-fluid style to the 909 podcast series. Deeply atmospheric and focused around their love for leftfield techno and bass music, the mix includes a lot of favourites from the likes of Batu, Luka, Excel, Blawan, Nikki Nair and Delay Grounds to name a few. A punchy percussive session. 

Speaking about the mix, Awo Ojiji says, “I approached this mix similar to how i approach djing in a club. i collected a lot of tunes i feel right now into a playlist with very rough idea in my head and then i pressed record and started playing and see where it leads me. it's a bit uptempo and includes a lot of tunes i play a lot in clubs these days. i'm really happy how it turned out, it's rowdy and intense at moments and soothing at others. it moves through a few waves of up and downs. and thats what i do when djing in general. i hope you enjoy :)”

Much love to @n-obezg ! The Zagreb-based producer is also a DJ, a radio host, a film and theatre composer, aaaand a promoter. Last year he made his first appearance on the global club scene with the track Cistern, released on the Italian label Early Reflex. 2021 will see him releasing two EPs, exploring traditional Southern Slavic music through a compressed, contemporary cinematic sound palette.
