"Call Out My Name" extends my personal story, which was first told in "Guiding Me To The Edge" and continued with the release of "Castaway." Released on March 15, 2024, this single is one of several original songs to be part of the forthcoming album, 'It's Only Just Begun.'

In 2023 I teamed up with Mauricio Mirapalheta, a Brazilian multi-instrumentalist with deep roots in metal and punk. Our collaboration has turned what was originally planned as a solo project into a band named Wágner. Mauricio is also responsible for engineering and producing all of our music.

We continue to be busy in the studio, working on new original songs that will be part of a forthcoming album entitled 'It's Only Just Begun' and some reimagined iconic covers that will be packaged together on the soon to be released 'Sonic Memories.'

🎸 About the Track:
"Whatever" (originally "Yeah, Whatever") was the first single released in my 2023 comeback after nearly three decades. The song is a cover that was written by Waymon Boone and performed by Splender, a rock band from New York City, active in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The song was part of their debut album "Halfway Down the Sky," which was released in 1999. The band gained moderate success with their catchy melodies and introspective lyrics, making "Yeah, Whatever" a standout track on the album.

This cover holds a special connection for me as my former band from NYC played in the same circuit of venues with Splender and even shared the same bill a couple of times. I was one of the first A&R people to approach them and offer a record deal at the now-defunct Continuum Records, where I headed up A&R. I have always been fond of the band, especially Waymon Boone's writing and vocal style, which resonates deeply with me.

In 2023 I teamed up with Mauricio Mirapalheta, a Brazilian multi-instrumentalist with deep roots in metal and punk. Our collaboration has turned what was originally planned as a solo project into a band named Wágner. Mauricio is also responsible for engineering and producing all of our music.

"Paranoid" is originally a song by Black Sabbath from their 1970 album of the same name. Written by bassist Geezer Butler, the song is one of the band's most famous tracks and is considered a heavy metal classic. The song was written as a last-minute addition to the album and ended up becoming one of Black Sabbath's biggest hits, with its fast-paced riff and memorable lyrics.

In this cover, I aimed to capture the intensity and raw energy of the original while adding my own unique twist to it. My version stays true to the powerful essence of the song but introduces a fresh interpretation that reflects my own musical influences and style.

"Six Feet Underground" narrates the harrowing journey of a young, orphaned Palestinian boy caught in the midst of the ongoing genocide orchestrated by the Israeli government against his people. Amidst the relentless chaos of falling bombs, explosions, and collapsing buildings, he witnesses the tragic loss of innocent lives, including families torn apart before his eyes. Overwhelmed by shock and grief, the boy channels his emotions into a fierce resolve for retribution.

The devastating toll on human lives and the obliteration of essential infrastructure, such as hospitals and schools, is truly appalling. As a steadfast advocate for a free Palestine, it deeply pains me to witness their continued suffering and the escalating crisis. In response, I am donating 100% of the revenue from the sale of this single to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund, aiming to support and uplift the lives of those affected.

"Painted Black" is a track from 'Loud Silence,' a collection of chill, emotive, and mostly acoustic covers that are not for release. These are songs that reflect my mood state in between the production of the singles released commercially. It's deliberately of lower production quality.

"Paint It Black" was originally performed by The Rolling Stones and released in 1966. The song is known for its innovative use of the sitar, played by Brian Jones, which added an exotic, haunting quality to its sound. It became a significant hit for the band, reaching number one on both the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart.

This cover of "Painted Black" is inspired by a personal memory from my childhood. I vividly recall a hot day in our Queens apartment with the window open, listening to my mother hum along to the song as it played on CBS Radio. At just seven years old, the song made a lasting impression on me, which I now channel into this cover version.
