Growing up as an African abroad was "uncool"

A lot of us Africans (Ghanaians, Nigerians, Kenyans, South African etc) always pretend to have it all or act like we are living some extravagant lives abroad when we go back to our countries for holidays. We show off and act big meanwhile majority are doing menial jobs such as cleaning and security. These are honest jobs therefore why can't we honest about our lives abroad to our families back home? Why do we use credit cards. borrow and save all year just to go home for 2 weeks and live a life of lie?
