Humanity’s greatest adventure EVER 🚀

I’m super excited to be alive right now. Can’t believe this is happening in our lifetime.

The one thing that was never explained is why anyone should care about the existential risk to humanity. If all human life on Earth is eliminated, why would I care that there are still people on Mars? The goal of ensuring the survival of the human race is not necessarily a rational one. It certainly doesn't seem like one to me, and you'd have to explain how it is. Elon's 2nd reason (to inspire) makes perfect sense for a lot of people, though.
