Based out of Lakeland, Florida, electronic music producer Floret Loret, aka Fernando Loret de Mola, makes unique musical journey through an atmospheric sound and texture to capture a scene that engulfs you in a melodic and weird sonic adventure. After releasing his debut EP Tangled Roots in March 2019, his career trajectory exploded. He released his sophomore EP Secluded Garden on Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats and was featured on mau5trap’s we are friends vol. 009 compilation. Making waves with his DJ sets, Floret Loret has played multiple festivals such as Okeechobee in March 2020, along with EDC Orlando, Deadbeats Boca Raton, and opened for G Jones, Chee, Minnesota and more.

"All tracks on this album were written between 2008 and 2013 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. It was a time of early experimentation with micro-sound and an exploration of different aspects of my musical identity.

«Étude» is an instrumental composition often designed to perfect a particular musical skill. Whilst making these songs I have been discovering and practicing new techniques. Be it mindful glitch-programming, sampling dad’s jazz records, or testing limits of the simplest FL Studio synth 3xOSC. The main goals were pretty much the same every time, to find fresh formulas and unusual patterns for new audio experiences.

Some of the tracks were made before signing to Med School (Searching The Truth, Microfunk, Phantasmagoria). Some were not included in my first three albums for one reason or another (Banana Electro Bebop Jam, I’m Not A Human, Dub Forest, Punk’s Not Dead). Projects for ‘Insight’, ‘Galactic Glider’, ‘Trash Bin Galaxy’ were lost, and so I used the latest found rendered versions here.

Genre-wise this album is quite broad. From ambient and experimental dub to wonky jazzy hip-hop and post dubstep. But, despite the diversity of the material I think it still has a strong identity and tells a complete musical story, from our first minimalist manifesto ‘Microfunk’ and deep leftfield drum & bass rollers, to more experimental twisted and sometimes dark ideas on the B side.

I started this album over a year ago with the "Intro" track. When I was working on it I had the vision of it being something I would open my sets with. I could imagine it being an introduction to an album and that's what inspired me to put the whole ep together. From then I worked on a bunch of different ideas until everything slowly fell into place. All the tracks are completely original with vocals I recorded myself. For the 2nd track "The Music" I recorded myself, my wife, my sister and my mum on the vocals, each vocal has about 10 takes layered on top of each other as I really wanted to give it that full sound, almost as if its a crowd of people. I wrote the album in a way that if you listen to it in order it flows nicely from one song to the next, like one big journey. I hope you guys like it :)
