Following a stint in London where she cultivated her skill through residencies within the local scene, she returned to Beirut and joined the Frequent Defect team with whom she shares a similar drive to address socio-political issues through multi-disciplinary art forms.

Genres may be possible in her mixes to techno, hard techno, acid techno and new trance. In tracks they love "vocals and melodic feet and vocals. Music for her jump from the present, in a way for all evil and the possibility of such a possibility with another variant of this variety.

As she put it - "The new French techno scene is my greatest musical inspiration. Dje and DJs closest to my heart are Maharti (Belgium), Jaess (France), Calavel (France), Matrakk (France), Lemane (France)."

In addition to music, Daria is a restaurant manager, interested in psychology and "magic" spheres of life.

#50 podcast will belong to a person who has had a huge impact on me, directing my taste in music thanks to, for example, technosoul events. Once a member of the technosoul collective, operating on the stage for over two decades, a resident of the Sopot club sfinks700, a member of the Up to date Festival team and an original vinyl record selector - I invite you to listen to Essence pres. We Call It Voight - Kampff.

A few words from the artist:
"Being a DJ for almost 20 years somehow never took “the usual way” - I never started producing my own music. It was only around the time when my son was born and I “retired” from regular DJing and promoting that I bought my first piece of gear. I decided to take on a new alias, being an obvious reference to the book/movie “Blade Runner” (although the idea came from the cult “Dj Kicks” from Stacey Pullen). 

The idea to present my music to people has come up very recently, however - I felt live PA’s are not my cup of tea. I have decided to bring the best of both worlds and play a DJ set consisting entirely of my own music (including a few tracks produced together with Szmer). I picked a number of tracks produced between 2018 and 2021 (as well as did a few new ones from scratch) and spent a few nights polishing them. I couldn’t pick a better place, as Sfinks/Sfinks700 was the place I was raised at. 

It’s hard to express how happy I was playing my “debut”. I definitely could have done better - the main challenge was my lack of experience with CDJs. Nevertheless - I am very pleased to be able to share this recording with a wider audience. Enjoy!"

Most recognizable of combining percussive, up-tempo sound with a rolling bass and spatial pads which gives us groovy mix, full of surprising breaks. Inspired by style from UK players like: Rene Wise, A.Morgan, XONO or Flaws and also Portuguese vision from Vil, Re:Axis and Temudo. On the scene since 2019 when he played his first DJ set for wide audience on Gdańsk shipyard in former club Protokultura on one of local collective “Techenko” party. One of the member of PPL showcase crew which organizes events in legal and “less legal” manner around Tricity area.

Axis Operandi - leader of music platform and series of events - Biotechnology which is focused on promotion of psychedelic, cosmic, organic and hypnotic sounds in techno and broadly defined electronic music. In his DJ-sets, he is looking for a balance between deep, trance, minimalistic and ambient-soaked techno and leftfield or tribal beats. He occasionally weaves elements of minimal house or electro into his sets. In his DJ and promoter activity, he tries to convince his listeners that sets grown out of techno do not have to be mainly strong or mainly dark in their expression, that there is space for a whole range of emotions in the 4/4 area.

He performed at events signed by such brands as Up to date festival, Instytut, Revive, Fort open air, 999 or Ars Independent. He shared the stage with such artists as eg. Edit Select, Valentino Mora, Shlomo, AWB, Setaoc Mass, VSK, Freddy K or Justine Perry.

Born in eastern Poland, rraph treads the dark, deep soundscapes of techno. Since his debut release in 2013 on Translucent, he has count many others on the likes of Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Counter Pulse, Subraum and of course his base, Gynoid Audio. Associated with the project since its launch, rraph contributes as an A&R and also immensely as an artist signing acclaimed work such as the Eseries EP which includes a Kwartz Remix or the Syndykat EP. He has also been quite prolific in providing remixes as well as tracks for various compilations. During the past years rraph has performed bothlive and as a DJ in renowned clubs around Europe such as Tresor, IPSE and Arena in Berlin, Corsica Studios in London, Le Batofar in Paris, Uebel & Gefährlich in Hamburg and more. Since 2015 rraph has been a member of Warsaw-based Behind the Stage collective and together with Aetha is also a co-creator of VULTUR, an event series taking place in Poland.

She regularly play in Wrocław clubs. On the map of Poland, get to know P23 in Katowice, Projekt LAB and Schron in Poznań, Szpitalna 1 in Krakow, Las Palace, Smolna and many others. She played alongside MCMLXXV, Echoes of October, Cera Khin, Fjaak, Clara Cuve, Hector Oaks ... Nevertheless, she still has the best memories of the rave in the woods outside Oslo (NOR) with the Scandinavian OG Vikings.

Piotr Figiel - music producer, live act performer and dj from Krakow, Poland. Formely known for DCM and Peter Feegle projects, since 2014 Piotr performs under his own name, focusing his work mostly on techno, IDM and playing hardware based live acts. His music has always been an eclectic mixture of different influences, original sound design and great sound. Piotr’s work has been released on many Polish and international labels and among many dj and live act club gigs, Piotr also performed at Street Art Festival, Ars Cameralis Festival, Tauron Nowa Muzyka festival and in 2017 Piotr was honoured to play on the legendary Instytut festival in Warsaw. Piotr has been hosting the „Essentia Electronica” radio show at Off Radio Krakow station in 2015-2012. The show became one of the most important promotion hubs for the local electronic music scene, artists, collectives and clubs in Krakow. In 2021 Piotr started a new venture, record label Rwetes. Apart from the solo music activity, Piotr teams up with Dominik Gawroński, creating Krakowitz - nostalgic, synthesizer-based, melodic music project. Piotr also works as a producer, mixing and mastering engineer, helping many artists to achieve the dreamed sound of their records.

Macewicz is a unique figure who builds the stage with electronic music in Poland. During the day, he builds the church organ, and after dark, he becomes one of the heads of the SLAP collective. As a DJ active for over 15 years, one of the residents of the Wrocław club Ciało. Michał is one of those people who can organize an event, perfectly sound equipment, it, but most of all play an insane set on it. A professional in every way, for whom only one thing counts - sound perfection. It is impossible to list all the activities in which he actively participates - DJ, producer, sound engineer, promoter - these are only some of them.

Brought up on the Love Parade raves and the old Tresor, he tries not to forget about the energy of those years in his sets. It presents a strong and hypnotic variety of techno. His sets, which he loves to drag as often as possible, are spacious and full of experiments, often going beyond the classic 4/4.

Here she will caress you with a sound, there she will drag you into the tunnel of hypnosis, and where you least expect it, seduce you with the vocal - we are talking here about Aneta Hudzik aka, coming from the south of Poland. Eta Hox.

A representative of the Cracow collective Deep Impact Krakow for the past seven years, she has been inviting artists from various corners of the city, who are associated with the Polish electronic music scene and the world stage of dub-techno and deep-techno music. In my opinion, Aneta is one of the few DJs / promoters who has so many talents. She runs a "B-sides" program at OFF Radio Krakow and has already recorded a large number of recruited artists, is an ambitious and appreciated Dj, and as previously mentioned, belongs to the Deep Impact Krakow collective.

As it often happens with music enthusiasts, they start their adventure with collecting vinyl records - this was the case with Aneta. Not long after that, the syrene could be heard at the soundsystem sessions, where many sailors were seduced with her sound. Her commitment and persistence in her pursuit of finding the right musical genre, clarified over time and now she oscillates in her sets between ambient, dub-techno, and faster and more deep-techno dance. Considering her selection, she fit in well as the support of such artists as Xhin, Fluxion or Samuel Kerridge.

Sailor, do not be afraid, jump on the boat and let yourself be seduced by this mermaid singing.

Sensual introduction, with a touch of eroticism in the background - this is how I interpret the story of L Ʌ V Σ N aka Marta Nowaczyńska, the pearl of Gdynia, who has just recorded a sea -> maritime story for us.

Her first release was an EP for French Carcères Records published in 2018. It initiated her performances abroad, which later turned out to be a breakthrough in her Polish career. She is currently a resident of "The Meaning of Rave" - a collective active in Poznań and Wrocław. She had the opportunity to play alongside artists, such as KRTM, Trym, DYEN, MSKD or Sluhg, at parties for the "Demain Kollectiv" or "Ismus". Her latest EP for the Turkish C O U P has been appreciated by artists, such as Paula Temple, Rebekah, ArchivOne, Stephanie Sykes, Sophia Saze and Ascorbite.

Bound to techno, Marta has never deviated from her attachment to melody; her productions and sets are characterized by a strong but melodic style. She is inspired by producers, such as Arca or Holly Herndon who draw and seek samples in the infinite depths of the Internet. Her works often confront delicacy and aggression which meet in a digital collage. L Ʌ V Σ N strives to create a multi-dimensional and intense techno based on feelings of nostalgia. Reaching for various samples, her works contain elements of noisy industrial sounds and trance, as well as acid and rave.

Vi - currently living in Tarnów young, but talented resident of Prozak 2.0 in Cracow, in which she systematically co-organise series NACHT - during the last event played founder of DUEL, DJ and producer Sept. From a known source we know, that for their April edition she invited icon of Pole Group - Vertical Spectrum. 

Her musical achievements include performance alongside such stars as: Ellen Allien, Miss Kittin, Subjected, Blazej Malinowski, previously mentioned Sept and soon enough Vertical Spectrum. What else can she boast about at the moment? Among other things, performance at INTRO festival or systematic playing in Polish clubs where she's charming the crowd with her outstanding selection. Vertical’s work enjoys undeniable recognition among lots of respected artist around the world and his tracks are often included in the sets of such artists as: Blawan, Ben Sims, Paula Temple, Oscar Mulero, Lewis Fautzi, Chris Liebing, Dave Clarke, Headless Horseman, Marco Bailey and many more. Personally, he remixed tracks of Alexander Kowalski, Patrik Skoog, Abstract Division or Developer - representative of Modularz. 
In his artistic achievements he may also include collective projects released on vinyl in the accompany of such legends as Cristian Varela, Takaaki Itoh and Alexander Kowalski.

An active fashion photographer by day, rising star of the dark circles of electronic scene by night. Winning great interest of more and more listeners with his great selection, delivered to the public from black records as well as his modesty and authenticity. 

PAWEL - as he is spoken about, is involved in music for a relatively short time and it was the period of time spent abroad that allowed him to find his way to techno while London directed his sound. His sets are strongly influenced by such artists as Blawan, D.Dan, Freddy K and Setaoc Mass, and in his performances he tries to combine different styles into a coherent, eclectic unity. However, as he says, he is most inspired by Berlin DJs and producers, and joining the latter is his private dream and goal. To achieve this, in his free time, he is intensively improving his skills in music production.

Eve Schwarz is a Frankfurt-based DJ who definitely stands out for her love of industrial music. Her performance at the November Syren event alongside Croatian Insolate made a huge impression on us, so we invited Eve to record over an hour-long podcast for wake and rave.

Eve looks for raw, harsh melodies that reflect the typical intensity. Industrial noise combined with simple techno elements and distorted pauses can define its characteristic sound. Although a large dose of unpredictability and experimental challenge emphasizes its diverse artistic appearance. After residing in her hometown of Frankfurt and organizing several events alongside Anthony Rother, Eve moved to Berlin with a focus on developing behind the scenes and developing her own musical output. Places such as Arena Club, about blank, Tresor.Berlin (OFFICIAL) gave her the opportunity to enter the world of electronic music.

Gem - was infected with the love of electronics by his older brother who brought home Model 500 or CJ Bolland records. He recalls how at the end of the 90s, in a tiny apartment in Warsaw's Ochota, they listened to "I wanna be there" on a common tower and since then he has been in love with electronics, and Detroit has a special place in his heart.

Since the beginning of the 2000s, he has also been actively involved in promoting. He took his first steps as an organizer in such bands as Pro Audio and Horry Tone. With the line-up of Underground Perception, he held a residence in Warsaw's Tomba Tomba and M25, mentioned by all electronic music fanatics in Poland. During their activity, they invited to Warsaw such figures as three pioneers from Detroit Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson, and the creator of minimal techno Robert Hood. It can also boast of its original project called Pølygon.

Michał was also a member of the Technosoul collective, which had a huge impact on the electronic music scene and shaping the awareness of listeners not only in Warsaw, but also throughout Poland. Together with Technosoul, they have organized countless events and bookings such as James Ruskin, Regis, Surgeon, Shifted or Rrose. He also started his original project Polygon.

Despite almost eighteen years of experience, his love for music, parties and DJing has not faded, which can be heard during his performances, which invariably remain raw, sincere and energetic. Currently closely associated with the Warsaw club 999, where he regularly plays their 50-hour marathons. The question of what sets he likes best is answered simply - long.

DJ, promoter, collector, cultural activist, and occasional radio host from Białystok, Poland who first stepped behind the decks in 2000 at the famed Metro club. The originator and program director of Up To Date Festival, the founder and booker of FOMO club. Co-founder of now-defunct Technosoul collective and record label. Dtekk is also the author of the Pozdro Techno slogan and father of custom built Pozdro Techno Sound System as well as the man behind Salon Ambientu event series.

Over the years Dtekk has received numerous awards for both his activity as a promoter and as a DJ. He represented Białystok, the Podlaskie Voivodship and Poland on numerous occasions, e.g at workdwide EXPO in Milan. What has been most important to him are not awards, but persistent contribution and genuine commitment to the scene.

Dtekk is one of the most consistent and experienced DJs in Poland, at the same time being one of the most versatile ones out there. His sets, played mostly from vinyl, feature mainly a broad spectrum of what’s best in techno and electro music, but he’s also a regular in ambient and experimental world. A special place in his repertoire is held by italo disco. When DJing he aims at striking a balance between an authentic search for the deepest forms of artistic expression and passing on a love of music to the people.

During his career, Jędrzej played at clubs all around Poland. He has also performed at the most renowned Polish festivals like Unsound, Audioriver, Garbicz, Tauron Nowa Muzyka, Up To Date, Open’er, as well as outside Poland, for instance in Berlin’s Berghain, Griessmuehle, Ohm and Suicide Circus, Porto’s Gare or in countries such as United Kingdom, Italy, Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, and Slovakia.

We are very pleased to host Insolate, with had the pleasure to perform for us on 02/11/19 in the Wrocław at the next edition of syreny.

A veritable powerhouse of the Croatian techno scene Insolate has been establishing a global presence as a DJ and producer for over 20 years delivering as both a label boss at Out of Place and the creative force behind their electrifying TRAUM events.

Hailing from Osijek, Croatia, on the wide Croatian East – a town that at first glance a heavy industrial atmosphere overshadows, she is making her first steps as a DJ back in 1997 before taking over European and worldwide clubs.

Her list of clubs and partys she played is impressive and includes Berghain, Rex, Tresor, Under Club, Club d’Anvers, Unter, Exit Festival, Tomorrowland, ADE and Dimensions Festival. Amongst many European clubs she played numerous tours in Colombia and recently added USA, China and Argentina to the list.

As a producer, she's had a string of releases on highly respected labels including DJ Deep's Deeply Rooted, Marcelus’s Singular and Developer’s Modularz - supported and played by some of techno's finest including Laurent Garnier, DVS1, Dax J and Ilario Alicante. Also she released the stellar Obscure Object Of Desire EP on JoeFarr's new User Experience imprint, EP for a Suara and beautiful EP for Proletarijat, label run by Sev Dah. She also contributed to Ben Sim’s compilation Tribology among giants as Planetary Assault Systems, Oscar Mulero, Steffi etc. and also made super interesting collaboration with french producer Arnaud le Texier and released EP with him for Prodigal Son.

In 2019. she released her debut album “Order is Chaos” as a double vinyl with extremely interesting collaborations with MATRIXXMAN and singer SARA RENAR. DJ Mag (UK) described album as “exciting journey thru trans-dimensional vocals, acid drenched sequences and floor obligated bangers.”

Insolate is also a major contributor to the Croatian techno scene, so much so that she was in Ibiza to receive the award for "Dance Nation of the Year" at the DJ Awards on behalf of her nation. Her and long-time partner in crime Volster also run the event series TRAUM in her native Osijek. TRAUM events have cemented their place in the clubbing calendar with quality artists like Paula Temple, Antigone, Etapp Kyle, just to name a few. The success of the TRAUM nights caught the attention of Red Bull Music Academy and Dimensions – both of which they have hosted official events for.

As a DJ, Insolate is well known for her no-compromise, pure-bred techno sets. It's clear to anyone who's seen her perform that she's an artist with a lot of experience but also plenty of inspiration and ambition, and a deep knowledge of techno. She is simply a natural presence in a DJ booth. If you've seen her play, you will know exactly what this means.
