Disparate producers with complimentary sounds, Evil Needle and Sivey met in an online beat community 6 years ago and to this day have never met in real life. On June 24, 2014 they present their first official EP, 'Constructive Interference', to the world. 'Constructive Interference' was created over the span of 3 years and embodies the unique soundscapes of each producer. 

Today, we are excited to share with you the single, "Constructive Interference" - a dreamy, bass-heavy, broken beat jam that really nicely sums up the feel of the collaborative sounds between Evil Needle & Sivey. 

Evil Needle, based in Strasbourg France [just on the border of Germany] pulls inspiration from traditional hip hop, neo-soul and trap music while seamlessly weaving in open synths and chunky chord progressions. Manchester, UK-based Sivey incorporates soulful beat-oriented music with what he calls "emotional highs and lows that are still musically stimulating" adding a beautifully uptempo sensibility.

The two come together to create a big sound vibration that is reminiscent of the round sound of vinyl – this time in a digital version.

Showcasing visual and vibe artists, all while giving back to the community is what we’re all about!

It’s exciting to finally share the third song from our first Selfless EP by our good homie @eltrainmusic. When we think of the word persistent and determined we think of El. Train. We had the pleasure of getting to know him on a personal tip and we’re happy to say that he has some amazing things in store. Learn more about his journey from our video interview (link below). His vibe is joined together with visuals by the stunning Ashley Sinha. She’s an incredible photographer that’s able to capture intimate moments and tones. We’re especially a fan of her subtle shots that tell stories from an environmental or nature standpoint. Just take a look at her instagram to understand.  

Selfless is a month long campaign where independent musicians donate songs to support an art/music based non-profit or charity. These two artists are submitting their pieces of art to support the non-profit, Musicians Without Borders. MWB mission is to bring music to areas torn by war and conflict worldwide.

Go Yama - Why like that lah

Our favourite ramen supremo Go Yama returns once again with a smoking single, after a recent trip and showcase in Singapore that provided various shades of inspiration for him.
'Why like that la' is a nod to the hybridised language in Singapore known as 'Singlish' - It's a rather strange yet efficient way of abbreviating English and combining words with local dialects and street slangs. The track in a way reflects that trait rather accurately, but more importantly indicates just how far Go Yama has matured in his music ever since his tribute Ep to Hayao Miyazaki released early last year on DTW.
His intricate sampling techniques, coupled with placements of live guitar riffs are beginning to define him very clearly as an artist - one that is firmly steeped in the spirit of diversity.
