Ruutu Poiss, the Amsterdam/Tallinn based expert in glistening psychedelic electronics, arrives on the first outing for Wake Dream (A new label ran by 
Amsterdam’s Orpheu The Wizard).

After releasing several 7”s, 12”s and EP’s on Levels, International Major Label, Rets Records and features on various compilations from Fasaan Rec. and Porridge Bullet, Ruutu Poiss lands at Wake Dream to release his first full length album (WADR002), scheduled for late summer 2020.

Leading up to the album, the first release from Wake Dream is this untitled three tracker by Ruutu Poiss giving you a taste of his unique spectrum of kaleidoscopic modular dance music, futuristic synth funk and emotionally charged experimental cuts. These three tracks are not featured on the album and are exclusive only to this pre-release!

Eyes wide, fixated on the ceiling, she tried to keep herself from drifting off, pinching herself each time she felt her eyes droop. For the past few weeks the same thoughts had been creeping into her dreams, turning them into dark twisted nightmares that felt inescapable. Her solution was to stay awake and avoid the inevitable, but there was only so long she could force her eyes to stay open.

Wake Dream - a new label run by Orpheu The Wizard - enters into the world with an inaugural outing from Amsterdam/Tallinn-based Ruutu Poiss. Following previous releases for labels like Levels, International Major Label and Rets Records, he presents an untitled 3-track EP as a prelude to his first long player which is set for release later this summer. The exclusive tracks only available as a pre-release give us a window into Ruutu's tastes for futuristic machine funk and hypnotic abstract electronics.

PREMIERE: Ruutu Poiss - Untitled A1 [Wake Dream]

In August of last year Amsterdam-based label Wake Dream began life with an inaugural release from Levels and International Major Label alumni Ruutu Poiss. Made up of three tracks, the EP acted as a prelude to his first LP titled Palav Aed, which is now ready to be released into the world.

Recorded in various home studios over a seven year period between 2012 and 2019, the 10 tracks on the album revolve around the same equipment set up, adding a timeless quality and helping to bring the release together as a coherent whole. Across the LP he welcomes us into the sonic world he's carefully crafted over the years, drawing from and referencing the melodic, harmonic, psychedelic and synthesized to chronicle his far reaching talents as a producer and musician.
