Die Kölner ElectroPop Band "Waking Up in Stereo" ist seit 2016 mit zwei EPs, originellen Musikvideos und düster-romantischer Live Ästhetik erfolgreich unterwegs. Die Brüder Armen und Arin Gevorkaraghi starteten das Projekt als Duo und wurden wenig später auf der Bühne von Florian Bonn (Soft Saints) und  später von Leonhard Schüren am Schlagzeug unterstützt, der nun auch als festes Bandmitglied dabei ist.

Jetzt veröffentlichen "WUIS" mit ihrem Debütalbum "Eulogy of 23" ein als Nachruf getarntes pechschwarzes Loblied an die Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und die Zukunft.
Dreckige Gitarren, Rhodes und Schlagzeug kommen nostalgisch daher - sind aber völlig selbstverständlich in neuzeitliche 808 Bässe, Synths, Samples und immense Wolken aus Stimmen eingebettet. 
Von sinnlichem Groove der das Tanzen erzwingt, bis zu hymnischer sakraler Ernsthaftigkeit ist das emotionale und stilistische Spektrum weit. An Willkür ist hier allerdings nicht zu denken. Jeder Song ist eindeutig WUIS und dient dem Verlauf dieser dynamischen Zeit-Geschichte.

"Eulogy of 23" ist keine Playlist, sondern eine Erzählung.

The Cologne-based electro-pop band "Waking Up in Stereo" has been successfully active since 2016 with two EPs, original music videos, and a darkly romantic live aesthetic. Brothers Armen and Arin Gevorkaraghi started the project as a duo and were soon joined on stage by Florian Bonn (Soft Saints), later followed by Leonhard Schüren on drums, who is now a permanent member of the band.

Now, "WUIS" is releasing their debut album, „Eulogy of 23“, a pitch-black ode to the past, present, and future, disguised as an obituary. Gritty guitars, Rhodes, and drums evoke a sense of nostalgia – yet they are seamlessly embedded into modern 808 basslines, synths, samples, and immense clouds of voices.  
From sensual grooves that compel dancing to hymnal, sacred seriousness, the emotional and stylistic range is vast. However, randomness is not at play here. Every song is unmistakably WUIS and serves the flow of this dynamic time narrative.
