About the lute instrument called "guembri", which i would describe as an early predecessor of the modern bass guitar: It is a camel skin covered, wooden soundbox with 3 goat strings made from goat guts: The guembri (spelled "gimbri"), or "hejhouj" in Hausa language, or "sintir" (in Arabic: سنتير) is a three stringed skin-covered bass plucked lute used by the Gnawa people. 

The instrument shows elements from Egyptian lutes (tuning rings and tabs) and folk elements of pre-Arab Africa. 

Related instruments are the "akonting" (Jola people, in Senegal, Gambia, and Guinea-Bissau in West Africa), the "garaya" (Hausa People, in Niger, Nigeria), the "ngoni" and the "xalam" (West Africa)."

ABOUT ONE OF THE SONG´S INSTRUMENTS: The jaw harp, also known as MURCHUNGA, mouth harp, ozark harp, juice harp, guimbarde, mungiga, vargan, trompe, maultrommel: "The earliest depiction of somebody playing what seems to be a Jaw's harp is a Chinese drawing from the 3rd century BCE.

It most likely originated in Siberia, around the Altai Mountains and is of Turkic origin. It is used in turkish, kyrgiz, cambodian, indian, nepali, sindhi, sicilian and also austrian folk music. Even in western classical music it has been used since the 14th century.

By writing this note, i would like to appreciate the cultural backgrounds of materials that i used for this release.

I named this song after the drumsamples used from a soul/ rnb sub-genre called "quiet storm" that became popular in the 70s. It blends elements of jazz, R&B, soul, and pop. Marvin Gaye and Sade were two prominent artists in it.

Indonesian Gamelan music is not connected to Meso-american culture in any ways that i know of. In this music/ artwork i combined these two elements, which are not related with each other. By adding this note i would wish for wish both cultures to be appreciated as sources.

ABOUT THE MUSIC: The melodic percussion samples in this song are acoustic and synthetisized gamelan instruments. Gamelan is a traditional form of music mainly found on the Indonesian islands of Java and Bali. An ensemble is primarily consisting of percussive instruments. The instruments in a Gamelan ensemble can include metallophones, xylophones, drums, gongs, and sometimes flutes, string instruments, or vocals. The original style of this music is often complex, consisting of layers, polymetrics and polyrhythms.

About the instrument "Berimbau":
The berimbau borrowed from Kimbundu mbirimbau is a traditional Angolan musical bow that is commonly used in Brazil. It is also known as Sekitulege among the Baganda and Busoga. It consists of a single-stringed bow attached to a gourd resonator and is played with a stick and a coin or stone to create different tones and rhythms.

The berimbau was used in many parts of Africa and Brazil during the 19th century to accompany chants and storytelling. It is part of the candomblé tradition, later incorporated into the Afro-Brazilian art capoeira. Until the mid-20th century, it was used almost exclusively within the black community, but after the popularization of capoeira, it gained wider popularity.
