With Flowerbed the whole song was written backwards in a way, starting with the outro. As always we were heavily inspired by the glitchy electronics of artists like Flying Lotus and Bonobo but we also really embraced our love of jazz here, channeling our love of Robert Grasper/Hiatus Kaiyote.

All I Need (Radiohead Rework)

In October 2022 the band revived their now legendary ‘Reworks’ night, which ran monthly at The Gallimaufry in Bristol, each show focusing on an influential producer or artist.

Speaking of the decision to rework such a revered band, Waldo’s said “We are definitely not the first to be hugely influenced by Radiohead. The challenge and pleasure for us was reimagining their work for a live guitar trio. We knew the show would be special so it felt necessary to document it in some way. On Everything In It's Right Place we really leant in to Radiohead's love of odd time in our own 'glitchy' way and ‘All I Need’ is perhaps a more faithful reinterpretation but with the rawness of a guitar trio recorded completely live in a packed sweaty bar."

Stayed true to the ethos and building on the success of 2022's 'Improvisations' EPs, the tracks were recorded completely live with no overdubs or edits, showcasing the true raw creative power of the band in real time.

Waldo's Gift are releasing one song a week for 5 months.

Having quickly established themselves as one of the most exciting live acts in the UK today, the band embark on their most ambitious project yet. Releasing a song a week for 5 months head of their debut UK tour in Feburary & March 2024.

Their debut studio EPs, recorded and released during the pandemic, gained wide support from tastemakers across BBC Radio 1 and 6Music. Their sound is a coherent cacophony of a vast variety of influences, hurtling from the harmonic and rhythmic sophistication of jazz through to the most cutting edge experimental electronic music.

The latest single ‘Vordhosbn’ (an Aphex Twin rework), premiered on Mary Anne Hobbs' 6Music show 20/11/19. Here the band were never aiming to match the beautiful intricacy of Aphex’s production, but rather to replicate that energy with human imperfection. Staying true to the ethos of 2019’s Improvisations EP, the track was recorded live in one take, no overdubs and no samples. Just guitar, bass and acoustic drums triggering an analogue synth.
