WALKEN are a two man barrage of noise straight outta Brisbane that consists of Matt Jamez (Vocals/Guitar) + Joe Daley (Drums), who, frankly, are poised to be your favourite punk duo since you first laid ears on Japandroids’ ‘House That Heaven Built.’

Their new single 'Even If It Kills Me' has the self awareness of a Menzingers tune, peppered with Get Up Kids worthy melodies and the songwriting swagger of Violent Soho. It's grunge-drenched rock that would sound like it’s been sucked from the middle of 1991 Seattle, if it weren't for the tendency to be hookier and more hopeful than that hellhole ever was. 

After releasing their debut EP in early 2014 and following up with the killer single, ‘The Great Noise’ – the kind of tune that kicks off soviet sinkhole sized circle pits - WALKEN quickly scored a dream spot on local heroes Violent Soho’s 'No Sleep Til Mansfield' tour and went on to support other tremendous Aussie acts including the Hard-Ons, Clowns, The Peep Tempel and The Smith Street Band, as well as international legends Andrew Jackson Jihad and Iron Chic earlier this month as part of the first ever I LOVE LIFE festival, hosted by Poison City Records + Jackknife Music.

‘Even If It Kills Me’ is song destined to elevate WALKEN from challengers to contenders as they road test the tune on an upcoming East Coast Tour with fellow rock grommets, Kaleidoscope. The Skate With A Mate Tour kickflips its way down the East Coast of Aus this October, and you'd be a bit silly to miss it.
