O Muses! Midway through their sojourn now, standing on the mountains peak. 

Led along by the lights lingering flame, hope encased inside and released when renamed, a shield in a long lasting dream. 
A covering from the night’s breeze, and sun for the morning’s lead. 

Come now, sing praises of the journeymen who’ve kept their true sight. Though seasons scorned the clock, their now halfway out of the dark, in a movement merely more than a fortnight. 

With more confidence their feet ride, even with slower stride. 
O Muses! The mountain peak yields more than snow and bitter ice. 

An echo carried on the frozen wind, with divine direction leads them, to an impossible door with a golden number four that carries an illuminating chaste. 

They opened the door, with no such haste, and walked through to the same ice space. 

But looks might deceive, for they walked through to the journey’s second part, and this dear Muse will take new heart, for they must face who they are to be what becomes. 

And through their reflection they’ll find the sum, of the burning questions of what’s to come.

Hope

On the way down the mountain pass, flesh tries one last grip at the characters. Doubt pursues them and depression tries to grip them.

The characters arrive off the mountain pass into a desert. The desert tries to snare the characters in giving false reflections of themselves. The characters must decide to take a stand and prove they know who they really are or forever be lost.

The Shifting Sands

O Muses, make a sound for the travelers of the night. 

The Sojourn is almost at an end, and all the lies now vicarious; but most doubt remains, as if their very 

being still retains a false image of old awareness. 

Blind mind retimed-the old mold must be redefined. 

Fear contained in a mirror of misconceptions, and ruins of body and soul. But the glass was scattered 

in millions of pieces, outnumbering the sand on the shore. 

What was then foretold, your pain transformed to gold as long as I am taken out of this mold. 

O Muses, the stage has paid its dividends 

With the royalties afforded by the sacrifice abloom, nature now amended watch the child keep his 

tooth, and lose all sin. 

A relic you helped carry, so at the tide line the times remarry. 

All connections come to completion, as your feet are washed by the moons waves; no one 

embarrassed, you throw all burdens down careless, and in the monsoon of stars you bathe. 

By the lighthouse’s gentle kiss, home now through the mist.

Romance

Probably the most dance-infused song on the CD. Inspired by one of our favorite local bands at the time, Action!

Action!

This song was one of the 1st songs I wrote, that I actually liked. I wrote it at 16 years old, and made the finals for a songwriting competition. I don't think it came through in the recording. Enjoy!

Reborn

Walking Relic is a pop/rock band from Norman, Oklahoma. Their style lies somewhere between Florence and The Machine and The Killers. Being female fronted, they have put their mark on the local scene playing places such as: The Hi-Lo Club, 51st Street Speakeasy, Belle Isle, The 89th Street Collective, Bricktown! live, The Oklahoma State Fair, Enerje Event Center and The Oklahoma Arts Festival. 

In the summer of 2015, the group recorded a song for the award winning movie "Electric Nostalgia," which released the next year at DeadCenter Film Festival.

In a way the band is a sort of "family band" consisting of brothers- in- law Chris Schat and Derek Mehl and Chris' wife Jessie Allison Schat. It is easy to see, then, how Walking Relic has stayed together all these years.The project started originally just as recording sessions for talent competitions and soon bloomed into a full on creative force.

The band has also been on a month long tour consisting of the east coast and the mid west, playing Georgia and Florida then taking an immediate turn to Arizona. The band has also had the chance to play in Nashville for record executives. In 2014 our single "Every Little Thing" was being played on 16 radio stations in the UK and had the opportunity to have radio interviews with Spark FM (UK), Insanity Radio (UK), Mersey Radio (UK), and Nevis Radio (UK).

Walking Relic is influenced by many artists such as: The Beatles, The Killers, M83, Vampire Weekend, Arcade Fire, Tegan and Sara, Enya, Florence and The Machine, Switchfoot, Snow Patrol, The National, Sigur Ros, and composers Murray Gold, Hans Zimmerman, and Olafur Arnalds,  along with many many other great and talented artists.

What sets Walking Relic apart from other bands is their knack to keep the music going regardless of circumstances, as well as staying true to their eclectic style of rock. The other difference between Walking Relic and other bands is their unwavering commitment to make an album more than just a collection of songs, but an immensely detailed and thought-provoking story that allows listeners and readers (the album comes complete with a first person "recount" of the journey the protagonists take in the story) to experience the whole of the album, and make intimate observations about their place in the human condition and what part they play.
