London-based producer Nebraska delivers his ‘Drill Deep’ EP with three sample based productions, including the title track that features a disco motif primed for the dancefloor.

Following releases on Rush Hour, Heist, Delusions of Grandeur and Mister Saturday Night​, Nebraska now turns his attention to the Brooklyn based imprint Razor-N-Tape’s sub-label, Razor-N-Tape Reserve. He's been known for a plethora of musical styles, but ‘Drill Deep’ showcases the more upbeat side to his musical persona while also highlighting his skill using eclectic samples.

For producing the material, Nebraska dug deep into his sample library: “Though not all made in the same period of time, these three tracks all feature drums sampled and chopped from vinyl copies of reggae records paired with samples from 70s soul productions – I prefer things to sound a little crackly and rough, that basement-y, sound system type of vibe.”

Nebraska’s ‘Drill Deep’ EP will be released March 29 on "easter yellow" 12" vinyl.

One of the two bosses of German label Fine has four funk-filled, rolling tunes prepared for its seventh release. Look out for Tilman’s dance-inducing, soul-seducing quartet of sample-heavy house and disco jams out on January 18.

A1 is packed with the usual disco/house sonic suspects: strings, jazzy keys and heartfelt vocal loops. It’s a credit to the Mainz-based producer that the bass varies significantly and with dynamism, but subtly enough that it mainstays the groove alongside the drums throughout the track. Cut 2 on the record stands out with its fluttering flute-loops, that float in and out on top of the beat throughout the song. Pleasant vocal hums, that almost sound like pads, smoothly fill out the background until about halfway when various soul-heavy vocal samples give the song a warm and almost contemplative touch.

Our premiere track from the EP, Stay Here Forever, will consume listeners with its heavy and full bass-end, and splashy and crunchy top-end. The track’s flow is now and then broken up aptly and evenly by a sequence of chopped and stuttered chord samples – not too dissimilar to a rolling Daft Punk disco thumper – to make it all the sweeter when the drums punch back in. Perhaps undeservedly buried as the record’s last track, Take Me For Your Love is arguably, overall, the EP’s most dynamic. Two guitar riffs (the first, as if sampled from the legendary Voodoo Chile’s unreleased cousin) come in interchangeably. Along with an ethereal chord progression of strings, they give the song an impressive balance of melodic simplicity and depth.

A simple filtered two chord motif, one note bassline womp, rimshots galore and of course plenty of M1 Vibes being layed down. It is with great pleasure that we bring you "Dance Ideas Volume 2", courtesy of Australian crew Beats of No Nation (@beatsofnonationradio). Initially kicking off as a radio show which was all about projecting class dance music to the masses, the franchise quickly expanded into a record label, which has since released five juicy EP's. Since launching this beautiful sonic creature in September 2015, BONN have hosted a ream of esteemed house personnel such as Mall Grab, Francis Inferno Orchestra, Fouk, Folamour and Seb Wildblood on their show. The Aussie lads (Dom Bird, Jad Lee and Sean Bate) have also received high praise from their radio show brothers and sisters in NTS, Xlr8r, Thump and Bradley Zero. With pats on the back from this grouping, it's pretty obvious they're doing plenty right!

This time round we've got ourselves a delectable little compilation which shines a light on works from Ibiza resident Corbi, Hackney's Lavan, Berlin's Jad & The and finally a spacey delight from West Australia's Olywok. Corbi's opener screams the setting sun. Combining clicking drumbeats, elevating strings and one very funked out guitar scale, this one's a lovely grind. Be sure to hang in there for that soothing vocal monologue to entwine you, 'it's all so quiet and beautiful with the whole city right out in front of my eyes'. Next up comes UK cat Lavan's The Right Thing (The Hardest Thing). What's most intriguing about this groovy slice is again the vocal sample chosen. At about the three minute mark a painter's voice enters the fray, discussing his method of attacking a canvas. Enveloping this artists words are soaring strings and languid bass notes, making up a clinic in relaxed house.

Our pick of the bunch and the premiere today is the third track, from the Germany-based Aussie lad, Jad & The (@jad-lee). Simplicity really can be oh so sweet. For just over seven minutes Jazz Hands You'll Never Understand carries us away with bongos and a spell-bounding piano loop. A jazzy cocktail of subtle sound that still encourages the boogie. Rounding out this crafty collection of dance thoughts comes Olywok's Maintain. Boarding that lo-fi train, Olywok works together a flurry of acid stabs, digitised bleeps and haunting synth notes into quite the meal. A record destined for the quintessential Bush Doof!
