Wallis, a DJ, live act, and former mastering engineer, has forged a unique sound that resonates with a generation yearning for emotion and experimentation. Her latest endeavour, the EP titled "Sleeping Pills Are Gone", showcases this distinct blend of melancholy and vibrancy.

Few musicians in the techno scene work to sound like no other, and try to push the boundaries of a genre that sometimes struggles to reinvent itself, Wallis is one of them. She played at all your favorite techno clubs, DJ or live set, but you have rarely seen her at an afterparty, because these days, she prefers the company of her synths than of people. If she could never leave her house, she wouldn’t. Her music is very personal, each release having a strong concept and artistic direction, and she often sprinkles references to cinema, hidden in the music and artworks. She just released an EP, “goodbye berlin” a few days ago, which is playing on the BBC, and has another upcoming EP, due to hit the platforms in a few months during summer.

For the 49th episode of the BPitch Podcast, we are excited to welcome Wallis!

Our favorite studio rat handed us a very special DJ set, where she plays exclusively her own music, mainly unreleased tracks she wrote in the last 12 months, showcasing just how wide her production range is. Wallis is one of a kind, and writes techno that speaks to the soul. Her music is for dancefloors but comes straight from the heart. Not many are the techno producers with this kind of catalogue, and even rarer are the die-hard innovators, looking to twist and bend techno into new forms like her. 

Being different and pushing boundaries in our social-media-driven world is sometimes punished by the algorithms, but artists like Wallis remind us that creativity and art is something still worth striving and fighting for.
