Half Baked showcase at Jaeger Oslo

It’s a Half-Baked takeover today on our site, and the gifts, they just don’t stop coming. Earlier we spoke to Le Loup, and now we’ve been given the green light to share the first half of Greg Brockmann’s set with you. It departs a little of that Saturday night magic we witnessed over the weekend, replete with a stripped back House sound, where rathchety beats and low-lying bass-lines conspire in a sound that is quite new to us. Brockmann brought the infallible colour of Half-baked to his set, the label and events series’ personal touch seeping through every aspect of the night, through their French resident. It’s the first hour and a half of the night that saw Le Loup and Brockmann go back to back and Brockmann, the Koncept music boss and skilled selector, showcasing some of that deep-digging personality behind the music, and introducing us at Jæger to some exciting new cuts along the way.

Because we are in the festive month and the new year is just around the corner, we have thought of a more special Mindcast this month!

This month's Mindcast is being delivered by the founders of this label/community: Flav and Murgu. A special 2h back to back set!

Flav has been around music since young, but only decided to give it a go, about an year ago. Inspired by artists like Arapu and Raresh, Flav has made his way into underground music scene a more viable future option, after opened for artists like Sublee and Charlie, earlier this year.

Murgu has just started his way into electronic music, but looks like he's got what it takes when it comes about combining abstract sounds and modular vibes.

Both together are getting their listeners into a various feelings journey and you will definitely hear more from this duo very soon!

We'd like to welcome Tibi to the podcast series as he kicks off the new year for us with an hour of ammunition that he has in his locker. Expect some of his own productions in there along with some material from friends as he takes us on a minimal journey. Currently based in Bucharest, he is a DJ and producer making a name for himself while pushing the darker sound of minimal. This year we kick off with a 1 hour and 40 minutes live jam from the Ukrainian producer @melihron. The sound designer improvises his sets with complex textures and grooves where he uses a lot of minimalistic bits and backgrounds of deep atmospheric sounds as well as fragments of environmental recordings, which creates the feeling of listening to a whole pulsating organic structure. He, of course, has multiple releases on different labels like at [flat] or a vinyl release with his project @sugubo together with @pridi on Yarn Records. 

Melihron leads us through his trip of stripped-back grooves. Expect deep elements, smooth transitions, hypnotic synths and switching rhythms all created by himself. Enjoy this impressive recorded live session!

In 2013 as the Balearic scene was changing in his native Spain, Javier Baz felt a magnetic pull draw him to Germany. The melting pot of Berlin’s club culture is as potent as it is transformative, and making the move he was thrust headfirst into a period of deep musical exploration. Spending countless hours digging into obscure minimal and deep techno productions, whilst soaking up the unrestrained artistry and expressionism on display at the local clubs. Over the subsequent years under his @Suburbial alias, Javier began gaining support and respect amongst his peers, with his productions being played in celebrated institutions like Globus (Tresor), Hoppetosse & Club der Visionaere. Galvanized by these milestones he shifted his focus more heavily into music production, experimenting with new machines, instruments, and modulars. His defined producing style has gone from strength to strength, now ranging from submersive techno to deep minimalistic and organic sounds. Always aiming for a harmonic evolution that is both energetic and enigmatic. His masterful approach to music has seen him signed to reputed labels like @CurteaVeche and @Rotatemusic, with more releases inbound on different labels, alongside his self-styled imprint @DeepnosiS.
