'Perfect Secrecy Forever' taken from 'Intercepts', a split album between Pye Corner Audio and Not Waving. 

Taking inspiration from the world of espionage, most specifically spy rings, both artists provide four tracks each, creating a thrilling musical call and response between these kindred producers.

Some of the world’s greatest espionage stories involve Spy Rings. From the Rosenbergs to the Cambridge Five and the Duquesne case, these are stories that haunt the annals of the covert world and remain shrouded in mystery and fascination to this day.

Clandestine spirits permeate these eight tracks of dreamlike industrial techno, impressionist synth burbles, fragmented post-modern ambient and cosmic sci-fi adventure.

ENTROPY TRAX, is the new sister label to Kompakt's WALLS helmed ECSTATIC imprint. Expect limited edition hand artworked white-label 12"s from a variety of artists, focussed on experimental dance floor sounds.

The debut release comes from DFA's Gavin Russom (The Crystal Ark/Black Meteoric Star) with a titanic double-header that announces the first of a series of releases for the label. Recording under his own name for the first time since 2011's 'Night Sky', this material finds Russom creating visceral and hypnotic dance floor tracks.

Gavin Russom on 'The Purge':
"I think of this as a meditation on the transformative power of illness. Cathartic purging and even the use of drugs to replicate states of extreme illness is a part of many healing traditions interestingly enough. In fact, after titling the track, I read in Jonathon Miller Weisberger's fantastic new book 'Rainforest Medicine' that in the urban version of the Yage ceremony the plant concoction they use is called 'La Purga' - literally 'The Purge' in Spanish."

Gavin Russom on 'Enthroned':
"David Brown's book 'Santeria Enthroned' was sitting on my kitchen table as I worked on this track and the titled seemed to fit it well after finishing it. I wanted to evoke a complex image of empowered femininity in the track, much like the images of orishas like Ochun, Yemaya and Oya that Brown describes in his writing. I was creating a kind of praise poem in sounds that describe a distinctly female type of energy. 'Drops' are eschewed in favor of rushes and shifts. There's an aspect of connectedness, especially with the powers of nature such as the river, the ocean and the wind that I wanted to capture…"

The first reissue release on Ecstatic comes from Italian ’mail-artist’ Daniele Ciullini.

Hailing from Florence, Ciullini was part of the forward-thinking TRAX collective, whose pan european art/music collaboration network acted as a proto-social network decades in advance of the internet. 

This compilation collects Ciullini’s self released 'Domestic Exile' cassette (1983) as well as selections from a series of other compilations(1982 to 1986)

When asked about the title 'Domestic Exile' Ciullini explains: The music in this cassette was born in a very difficult period of my life. A period marked by a rift with the world. 'Domestic Exile' reflects a time of recession, entrenchment within the walls of a tired soul. Most of the songs are improvised on the spot. Listening to the music today I think this aspect was perhaps naive. But I enjoyed realising something very close to my inner state at that moment.

Ciullini's music is as sharp and controlled as his elegant photographic images of decadent marble statues, mannequins and deserted Art-Nouveau architecture.He describes these songs as rapid "sonic polaroids” in which synthetic sketches and "Oriental" keyboard “voices” sit side by side with vigorous electro-industrial rhythm and metronomic modified drum machine pulses.

His music presciently fuses ambient and industrial, as well as echoing the synthetic alienation of 8 bit micromusic, the melodic wave sounds of Young Marble Giants, and even a proto-shoegaze guitar (see Soft Marble, with reciting voice) as well as hints of drone music (the magmatic loops of Bloody Machine).

Following a series of off-kilter rythmical explorations for Black Acre and Obsession Recordings, Primitive World’s Sam Willis releases on Ecstatic Recordings for the first time with the limited edition 'Ascension' cassette EP.

’Ascension’ is a four track expedition into the fertile jungle of Primitive World's protean techno, packed with grainy 12-bit pads, jerking oscilations and skittering low-res percussion. Inspired by the symbolism found in various cultures (ritualistically represeted by stairs, trees, ropes etc.) as “self elevation of the human soul and union with God” that represent the axis between the profane and sacred worlds.
