Having recently pricked up ears with his 'Skepta' track, which revolves around a motivational monologue from grime's current reigning king, and a BBC 1Xtra mix for Sian Anderson, Sheffield beatsmith @walter-ego is on top form. 'Smoke Bomb', which we're premiering here, makes the four-tracker go out with a bang. Appearing on Steel City imprint Bad Taste, it's a ruffneck slice of bass with an addictive spiralling synth line that'll surely find its way into many tastemakers' mixes. Hard hats advised.

Following releases on Kerri Chandler’s imprint Mad Tech and Toddla T’s Girls Music, Walter is back with an EP on Bad Taste Records, infused with the sounds that have influenced him; UK Garage and Grime. We have the first track from the new EP to give to you today, it’s a hard-hitting, club track with a heavy kick-drum and driving sub-bass and we love it…
