Aircheck WQHT April 28 1989 (Scoped)

Broadway Bill Lee sometime in 1988, likely May based on the music and Lee's remark on the hitting duel before the World Series.  The aircheck is of fairly high quality, and includes the songs for full effect.

The songs are Michael Bow "Love and Devotion"; Naughty Girls Need Love Too, Candi "Dancing Under a Latin Moon," an otherwise lost hot mix of "Silent Morning" by Noel and "Pink Cadillac" by Natalie Cole.

WQHT Aircheck May 1988

An aircheck just as it was broadcast around 5 p.m. August 13, 1986.  The fledging WAPP (album rock then top 40) morphed into "Classic 103," a classic rock format for a few days in a move known in the radio industry as "stunting."

But on this night, the early life of WQHT is known as "Hot 103.5."  The sweepers and IDs are done by the late Chuck Reilly, and here are the songs:  "Something About You" by Level 42.  "One Way Love" by TKA, "Can't Wait Another Minute" by Five Star, "Earth Angel" by New Edition, "So Fine" by the Egyptian Lover, "Vanity Kills" by ABC, "Say It" by E.G. Daley, "Nothin' Going on but the Rent" by Gwen Guthrie, "Private Number" by The Jets, "Under the Influence" by Vanity, and "Rumors" by The Timex Social Club.

This is an amazing piece of radio history, the birth of a radio station that lasted generations and provided the soundtrack to countless teens and  young adults.
