The soundtrack was required to capture the beauty of the setting and the complexities of the characters and their relationships whilst conveying the dark underlying events taking place throughout.

“Ronaldo” is produced by Paul Martin, James Gay-Rees and Asif Kapadia, the team behind ‘Senna’ and ‘Amy'. Ronaldo was directed by Anthony Wonke who is a triple BAFTA Award-winning and EMMY nominated director and producer.

The music was recorded at Abbey Road Studios and will be released later this year.

Academy Award nominee Oliver Hirschbiegel, who has already brought films like ‘Downfall’ and, most recently, ‘13 Minutes’ to the screens, once again dedicates himself with ‘The Same Sky’ to another important chapter of contemporary German history, the 1970s.

East Germany (GDR), 1974. Lars Weber — young, ambitious and impenetrable — will soon have to prove his loyalty to his country; the 25-year-old knows that every step forward in the GDR comes with strings attached.

For Lars, this means being sent to West Berlin as an East-German ‘Romeo’ agent. His mission is to seduce women working in sensitive positions in the West. One of them is Lauren Faber, a high-ranking British intelligence officer and lonely single mother of a rebellious teen.

This AAA video game is currently in development and will see it's release in 2013. More than 80 minutes of music were written for this epic first person shooter. The story is set in the future impacting on the style of the music which ranges from big orchestral arrangements to heavy electronica. The orchestra was recorded and mixed in one of London's top studio. More details and pictures will follow soon.

The above clip was an early demo for the game. The cello was recorded live and then treated with several FX to blend it in with the electronic soundscape.

X - Ambient (cello by Richard Harwood)

The majority of music was written for the epic battle scenes which build the core of this epic game. The music always reflects the empire that is being controlled by the player, ranging from lush orchestral arrangements for European Empires such as Great Britain or France, to epic battle drums for the Ottoman Empire. The epic soundtrack features an 80-piece orchestra that, together with ethnic instruments such as duduk and ney flute, were recorded by renowned sound engineer Peter Fuchs (‘Iron Man 3’, ‘Star Trek’) at the Slovak Radio Concert Hall.

The soundtrack received great reviews from leading games magazines. IGN: ‘The music fits the martial tone of the game perfectly and definitely helps players get into the mood for the setting’, and gives the sound a glowing 9/10 score.
