Ariana aka waltur is an Antwerp-based gabber kick-loving DJ that manages Burenhinder, an all-female art and rave collective striving to give local female artists a platform. She champions the group's signature hardcore sound. Each set becomes a dynamic narrative, skillfully blending diverse genres, from the pulsating rhythms of baile funk to the mind-bending sounds of psytrance, and the nostalgic beats of 90s hardcore classics to the raw energy of the nastiest terror kicks.

We are very happy to announce our new WHISKAST series with our first guest who can be none other than the mom of the Belgian female only DJ collective Burenhinder Ariana aka Waltur (she/her).
Waltur is very well known for her surprising sets, the most variable selections and precise blending that she projects onto the dance floor. We are used to hearing the most destructive hardcore kicks from her, but lately Ariana has been seeking more club sounds, big bass and latin rhythms. 

She played at our unforgettable Indoor/outdoor gathering last year and we are happy to have her back as our podcast guest.

Sweet Bye and Bye - Second Episode w/ instar 🎼

Sweet Bye and Bye is designed to help you unwind with soothing melodies and peaceful rhythms, offering a gentle respite from the fast-paced dancefloor.

In this episode, I invited my dear friend @cam_cool - DJ, producer, and member of Burenhinder. Instar is also known as the captivating voice of the shoegaze band Sunchaser. Through their personal sonic explorations, instar plays and creates trance-tekno & noise music, amongst a wider arts practice under the same moniker. Instar takes here a softer approach blending nostalgic soundscapes with textured ambient music to create a tranquil soundscape.

Sweet Bye and Bye is designed to help you unwind with soothing melodies and peaceful rhythms, offering a gentle respite from the fast-paced dancefloor.

For this episode waltur has invited blottir (Daniel), who gave birth to concertseries 'Ekumen' earlier this year, and their dear friend malanguelapremière (Valentin)

Daniel and Valentin met online a few years ago, originally bonding over a shared interest in "niche" electronic music. They also share their birth year. 

They crafted this special Xmas mix together over the month of November 2024, using Audacity and sending each other files back and forth via email, carefully adding layer after layer. 

Drawing from various sound sources, they deliver an ambiguous blend of feelings, embodying the contrast between the distress of contemporary life and the joy of coming together and sharing moments with loved ones.

Valentin's mother described the mix as a relaxing, therapeutic experience, further adding that his grandma would like it.

Sweet Bye and Bye - Fourth episode w/ Dj-Didju & Leau Sweet Bye and Bye is designed to help you unwind with soothing melodies and peaceful rhythms, offering a gentle respite from the fast-paced dancefloor. 

For this episode waltur has invited Dj-Didju and Leau! This selection of tracks is by 20-year-old drummer Ferdinand Lezaire. He is among the most promising jazz musicians of the young generation! First and foremost a music enthusiast, he is a member of Ateliers Claus as an in-house DJ and nurtures his love of sound through an eclectic collection of CDs. For this project, he invites his friend Leau (Lorenz Van Berckelaere) to help him assemble his very first recorded mix. This Is My Dinner is a reference to the lyrics of Mark Kozelek (Sun Kil Moon), who will be performing at Casino Concertzaal on April 24.
