Formed from an impromptu jam, Wampa has been honing their signature brand of rock and roll since 2009. With a sound that blends the abstract Americana of Wilco with the funk of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Wampa brings a flavor of gritty Memphis soul that you can’t help but groove to. Wampa is fiery sax solos, thumping bass lines, rock and roll guitars and a party on stage. Their energy is as infectious and catchy as their lyrics and their live show is something you just can’t miss.

Wampa has played a number of memorable performances from their appearance at benefit concerts for LeBonheur and Habitat for Hope to playing as the Talking Heads for Halloween. They have appeared at Memphis’ River Arts Festival and have also rocked the stage with the likes of Al Kapone and the Bar-Kays. Currently they are recording at Memphis’ Young Avenue Sound studios and plan on releasing a series of EP’s for digital download starting in the Spring of 2011 and culminating in the release of their first full length offering sometime next year.
