This is my first piece of music that I am putting up on the net, and I hope you enjoy. It came about randomly as I was screwing around and took me about 2-3 hours to finish and such. I recommend listening to this song with over-ear headphones to get the full effect. I accept all criticism and feedback.

A New Dawn - Chris Wood

This piece came about as I was listening to a remix of Twice-Little Dragon by Waterstrider, and I loved the feeling it created in me, so I tried to recreate that. I don't think I quite did it justice, yet I'm happy with it regardless. I know the overall volume is kinda quite, so sorry about that, I'll try get it better for next time.

Preparation for War

So I haven't uploaded anything in like, forever, which I am super sorry about. This is also something new that I'm trying, getting a song and turning it into my own style. I tried to start minimalisticish, and then made it grow near the end (as that's one of my favourite kinds of song styles). This is also the first song I am uploading which I didn't write myself, and also the first where I sing!

Btw, if you don't really head anything, just turn up the sound a lot. Because I start quite and get loud I can't change the master volume, so yeah, sorry about that.

As always I hope you enjoy this. I know it is very different to the other music I have uploaded, so some of you might not like it, but it's something I want to try so what the heck! :)

Give Me Love (cover)

So! I was recently inspired by super epic music from compositions by Two Steps From Hell (among others) and I wanted to try make an epicish piece myself. This first test I tried using heavy guitar, long brassy chords, no strings, and a driving bass and tom combo. I personally think I succeeded pretty well for a first go. This is purely a test piece so it is short, and there are some quantising issues that I couldn't be bothered sorting out. I'll probably try another type of epic music next, maybe try something in the style Hiatus makes, not sure yet.

Anyway, as normal, any and all opinions are welcome!

Epic v1 (Test Song)

Another test track for you! This time I'm trying an ambient sound with lots of smooth synths. It doesn't really have a melody, but there is one in the second half of the piece kinda. I actually nearly fell asleep while writing this, and it hadn't even gotten to 6pm hahaha. The piece was first inspired by Everlasting - Brand X Music (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ze25Q0w8O24), but I kinda went a different way to what it did and I'm rather happy with it.

I'm doing these test songs to see what people think, and to expand my compositional skills. I'm starting my Music Technology at uni in a few weeks, so I need to get back into composing, and in many different styles too. Expect to see more of these short 1-2 minute test songs, as I'm sure there will be more.
