3rd Prize of Sunriver new composition competition.&#13;
The  (Latin-Sunrise) is a Sichuan folksong that celebrates not only special occasions, but also the love an individual for my hometown. The glory of the dawn is mirrored on the lake. And the beauty of the land is praised and compared to a partridge.&#13;
Setting, although moody and expressive, captures the enchanting land and its wonderful people.

Solis Ortus

Once upon a time, there was a man whose name was Yu Boya. He had good skills in playing the Guqin. But he still felt that he could not express his impressions.
One day while he was boating, the moon was bright and a cool breeze was blowing gently and he began to play. The music became more and more beautiful when a man on the bank shouted "bravo!" When Boya played a piece of music eulogizing the high mountains, the woodcutter said, "wonderful! The melody is as magnificent and dignified as Mount Tai which reaches to the sky!" When he played a piece of music depicting the turbulent waves, the woodcutter named Zhong Ziqi said, "Wonderful! The melody is as vast and mighty as the great rivers!" Boya was excited, and said, "Bosom friend! You are really my bosom friend!” From this story comes the phrase "high mountain and running water" to refer to understanding and appreciative friends. It also refers to excellent music.
Years later, Ziqi died, and no one could understand Boya’s music. He was so sad that he broke his Guqin, and never played again.
