"The Collective VA Vol.1" is  showcasing tracks from Alessandro Grops, Fvndo, Vxlr, and SYM. Alessandro Grops evolved from minimal sounds to a distinct techno style, earning acclaim from industry leaders. Fvndo, who is no longer a stranger on Contempo's radar after his "Reasoning" EP, showcasing a unique sound that resonates deeply with techno enthusiasts. Andreas Wechsler, known by his stage name Vxlr, hails from Berlin and has carved a niche for himself in the techno scene with his innovative soundscapes and compelling productions. SYM, a Techno DJ and producer from Barcelona, blends heavy grooves with dark sequences and house influences, continually evolving his sound beyond the 90s styles that first inspired him.

Opening the VA is Alessandro Grops who delivers "Depulso," a track that combines driving beats with an immersive Dark atmospheric Sound that creates a captivating journey. Fvndo's "Stimulation" offers a rhythmic exploration with pulsating basslines and intricate synth work, designed to energize and engage. Vxlr's "Side Chick" features a darker, groove-oriented sound with deep, growling bass and hypnotic rhythms. Lastly, SYM's "Raw Vibes" lives up to its name with raw, unfiltered energy, fast and spontaneous rhythmic shifts, making it a standout for techno purists.

Introducing the inaugural release from the freshly launched SIDE B imprint, rkeat takes the reins with a striking four-track EP that sets the tone for what’s to come. Beginning as an event series, the Portuguese label makes way for no nonsense, driving club records and the first release is nothing if not that. Hybrid in spirit, rkeat delivers a refreshing take on techno that remains persistent in percussion but explorative for everything else. The seasoned producer pushes precisely designed texture to the forefront and lets the rest follow in suit, creating an intriguing and versatile track sequence. With each chapter, rkeat is able to blend razor-sharp textures with intricate sound design, letting every sonic detail shine through. 

The first side of ‘Indol’ sees spaced out elements creating a theme packed with elusive melodic work and enticing ambiances. Moving forward with impactful percussion, rkeat guides us through an ecosystem of sound with a twist at every turn. ‘End Of Tips’ on the second side of the record is a bit more extraverted, with rolling basslines and sixteenth hi hats. Opening up his record with groove while maintaining his sonic direction from the A Side, rkeat then closes the record in obscurity, offering the title track ‘Indol’. A cheeky hybrid of genres, this last chapter combines syncopated rhythms and breaks with early German techno experiments. Impressive in weight, ‘Indol’ ends the EP as a truly compelling debut that promises an exciting future for the label and its roster.

Bad Balance: 

Malmö-based Bad Balance, founder of the mixcast series and club concept Malmö Techno Tales and one of the co-founders of the collective Kenopsia, began his DJ journey in 2020. It all started when he and a few friends took the leap to organize open-air events on the outskirts of Malmö. Since then, he has become a household name in his hometown and has had the opportunity to play at some of the most renowned clubs in Copenhagen.

He usually gravitates towards a mix of hypnotic and groovy techno sounds, with a penchant for blippy sounds, rhythmic beats, and round kicks.
