Each year, Leehom performs his first show on the evening of New Year’s Day, an intimate free show in front of a small audience instead of the usual 30,000-seat stadium. No theatrics, choreography, or big stage performance — just him, the fans, a small band, and the music.

After hitting Taipei in 2012 and Shanghai in 2013, the 2014 Free Show arrived in Singapore. 250 fans from various countries assembled to enjoy an evening of rousing melodies and tight beats. The musicians were all familiar faces, good friends with whom Leehom has worked for many years, and the set list was a mixture of popular singles and old favorites, all newly arranged to allow the musicians to take full advantage of the intimate setting, improvising freely and interacting closely with each other and with the fans.

For this album, we’ve left Leehom’s speaking sections in, so that listeners can best understand his own thoughts and perspective on each song and feel the closeness that the audience felt live that evening.

Wang Leehom's much anticipated new album's first hit single, "Lose Myself" featuring Swedish DJ Avicii is a true East West crossover opening the doors for EDM in China.

Wang Leehom's new Chinese album is dropping at the end of 2014 and he never fails to surprise us. Early on in his career he set the standard for Chinese R&B with the award winning album "Revolution". In his album, "Heroes of Earth", Leehom created a sound he called "Chinked-Out" which helped define the sound of Chinese hip-hop. Now, his collaboration with DJ Avicii on "Lose Myself" has not only created buzz for the new album, it's also opened the doors for electronic dance music in China.

Avicii's signature rhythms and Leehom's emotional melodies create a fresh blend of East meets West. The Chinese lyrics written by Leehom are a double entendre. WLH says "The structure of EDM songs are quite different from what Chinese audiences are used to. There are long instrumental interludes (known as the drop). I hope 'Lose Myself' can show audiences how to appreciate EDM. First, to 'lose yourself' in the music and forget the worries and stresses of everyday life. But also, there's a sad love story here. A girl has forgotten me but I just can't get over her. And I wish she could teach me just how to forget the past."

The song “Lose myself” is a song of many layers, filters and complexity. The lyric depicts a tragic love story while the music echoes the sound of celebration and rebirth. The song is about learning to break free and having the courage to let go. Where east meets west, where two genres collide, the soulful C-Pop infused with the euphoric dance beats will take you to a place where you will lose yourself and then be reawakening, you will forget and then remember.

Wang Leehom is a Chinese-American singer-songwriter, music producer, actor, and film director. Known as the “King of Chinese Pop”, Leehom has repeatedly revolutionized the Chinese pop music scene with his evolving blend of pop, rock, jazz, hip-hop, R&B, classical, and traditional Chinese music ranging from aboriginal folk music to Beijing opera. The best-selling Mandarin-language musician of his generation, Leehom came to prominence as a teen idol at the age of 19 and has since released 15 solo studio albums and contributed to dozens more.

Over the course of his career, Leehom has earned 19 nominations and 4 wins at Taiwan’s Golden Melody Awards and 11 wins at the Chinese Music Awards, in the categories of Best Pop Album, Best Producer, Song of the Year, Best Arrangement, and Best Male Artist. He currently tours in over 100 cities worldwide, performing to sold-out venues across mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, the UK, and the US.
