Inspired by Tangerine Dream.  Edited and mixed entirely on a Neve Logic 3 and Audiofile post production system during a particularly quiet day at work.  Yamaha synth used for original sound sources, realtime outboard delays and FX mixed as live (Eventide DSP 4500 and PCM 70).  Output via TC Electronics Finaliser.

One of the UK's most exciting fusion bands, Sapphire Bullets currently presents a whole set of the music of The Mahavishnu Orchestra. A glorious mix of Indian music, jazz and furious rock, this music is intense, truly beautiful and amazing live. 

The original incarnation of The Mahavishnu Orchestra has been often cited as 'the greatest band that ever was' with John McLaughlin (guitar), Billy Cobham (Drums), Jan Hammer (Keys), Jerry Goodman (violin) and Rick Laird (Bass). In this form the band released 2 studio albums, 'Inner Mounting Flame' (1971) and 'Birds of Fire' (1973), although the band was very much a live improvisational group illustrated by 'Between Nothingness and Eternity', their only live album. 
McLaughlin reformed the band in 1974 with Jean-Luc Ponty (violin), Gayle Moran (keys), Ralphe Armstrong (bass), and Narada Michael Walden (Drums).

Sapphire Bullets plays music from both incarnations of The Mahavishnu Orchestra, including favorite showstoppers Birds of Fire, Vital Transformation and Eternity's Breath.
