Ivy Green is considered to be one of the very first Dutch punk bands. Singer Tim Mullens wrote the song “I’m sure we’re gonna make it (Wap Shoo Wap)” in 1972. At the time he was only 14 years old. Living in the small town of Hazerswoude-Dorp he unknowingly created a proto-punk masterpiece using just one guitar chord (and a half).

Tim got the rest of his band together in 1975, all of them teenagers with the drummer being only 12 years old when they started. In 1978 their debut was originally released as a one-sided single, but the b-side of our limited edition reissue features the raunchy song “Pak ‘m beet” for the first time on a 45 and is the only song the band ever sung in their native tongue.

In the late 70’s dynamic British duo Alan Ward and Mike Butcher formed such memorable underground bands like Rollerball and Jet Staxx. Their biggest claim to (almost) fame is probably in 1977 with an act called Elton Motello, with whom they wrote and recorded “Jet Boy, Jet Girl”. The same backing track was later used with different lyrics and sung in French by Plastic Bertrand, who turned it into the legendary faux-punk hit “Ca Plane Pour Moi”. 

Before all of this, Ward and Butcher created one of their first musical projects in 1974: a junkshop glam project called Feather. Working as studio engineers in Brussels at the time, they recorded the Stones track “Stupid Girl” and their own tune “You Got Troubles”. It was released in 1975 as a single and both sides are swaggering, hi-energy rock ’n roll tracks with a New York Dolls attitude that bites you right in the crotch.

 The original single is one of the most sought after proto-punk releases and now, for the first time after 48 years, we’ve finally released an official reissue, remastered from the original recordings.  Limited to 250 copies on black 7” vinyl.

The Mocks are the most exciting 60's influenced band to come from the outskirts of Amsterdam in a long time!

In 2019 this trio of young gentlemen started playing just as loud as they dress and in their short existence they have taken the European scene by storm with their frenetic hi-energy live shows.

Besides channeling the spirit of the 'Nederbeat'-boom created by Dutch bands like The Motions, The Outsiders and Q65 they are also heavily influenced by rhythm 'n blues and surf music.

A-side "Do Me Good" is a danceable, fuzz-fueled, freakbeat groover that will have you shake, shimmy and do the jerk out on the dance floor. The raucous rhythm, booming bass and gritty guitar on this track bring it all together for a climactic ending that's completely out-of-sight!

The flip-side "Sticks and Stones" is a Titus Turner-penned rhythm 'n blues classic that was first recorded by Ray Charles in 1960. But The Mocks put things into 5th gear with their own version and turn it into one hell of a rave-up!

The Amsterdam based band THE COVIDS was created out of boredom during the first lockdown and after numerous cancellations they could finally play their first live concert during the fall of 2021. Since then the band has relentlessly played the Dutch club circuit and already made their mark in the UK and Germany. This coming spring they will do their first tours in the USA, Mexico, France and Spain. Needless to say: THE COVIDS are on a roll!

After releasing their first single on Wap Shoo Wap Records in 2022, they are ready to launch their debut album "BUST TO BITS" containing 11 energetic, raw and melodic tracks that are extremely contagious. The album's title track is a good example of what the band is all about lyrically, namely trying to have fun in a day and age that can sometimes feel apocalyptic. Musically THE COVIDS take inspiration from such groups as BUZZCOCKS, THE DAMNED and THE WIPERS.

Lost Cat are an all femme fatale four-piece from Los Angeles with the looks, chops and attitude that will slap you straight in the face. The track on their side is called "Thinkin' Bout You" and is some real fuzzed-up, swaggerin' garage-punk including a riveting rave-up to make you go hog-wild!

On the other side we have Black Mambas stone cold stomping it up with "Love Danger". A proto-punk / pubrock banger sounding like a tune that members of Dr. Feelgood and Ducks Deluxe could have made together during an all-night binge party.
